Town Called Malice -- The Jam (Bass line was copied from "you can't hurry love" but still a good tune)
The Jam is great in general..but this one in particular and "Down in the Tube Station" are sonic awesomeness...

Tell That Girl to Shut Up - Transvision Vamp
Huh..the version I know is Holly and the Italians. Wonder which one's the cover? Title is somewhat unusual so I doubt they're two different tunes..

This is the stuff they should've been playing at the 80s retro run on Saturday. Some of the stuff they played was too current.

Faith No More - We Care A Lot
Hmm..not sure what you mean by "too current". This one just barely slides into the 80s itself..1988. Or do you mean they were flat out playing 90s grunge because of being clueless about the "Decade of Greed"?

I'd like to comment, but I haven't got time to read through the thread and see if any of my favourites are already listed! Love the 80s!

Lloyd Cole and the Commotions - Perfect Skin. I've literally woken up to this man's voice every morning for the last two years. Unfortunately it's in the form of a cd and not real life. *sighs*
Very nice. I'm partial to "Half of Everything".

Holly and the Italians was the original artist for Tell That Girl To Shut Up, but Transvision Vamp did it in 1988 - and well!
