I weigh food (such as chicken) after its been cooked correct? Anyother tips and tricks for weighing out food? About to start in that portion of my journey (hopefully buying a scale today.)

You should always weigh your food raw (and then use the corresponding verified entry for that raw food.) I try to use the usda entries where possible.

It doesn't matter. Just use an appropriate entry. There are entries for raw and cooked foods. Look for the ones without an asterix, they are MFP entries and usually accurate.

You should weigh everything raw. When cooked, juices/water are released making the meat/veggies/whatever lighter than what it originally was. The weights on the nutritional data on the packages are pre-cooked weights.

Raw will always give a consistent reading. Cooked weight can vary massively due to water.
