    Could you not substitute the bread for the gluten free variety? To be fair I don't know what it tastes like, but might be worth a try.

    As for the eggs, I make scotch eggs for breakfast. You can make a batch of them and grab one on the way to work if you are always in a hurry. They are good for about 3 days in the fridge.

    1 hard-boiled egg.
    2 sausages of your choice (I use Tesco healthy living range, only 150 cals for two sausages)
    2 tbsp breadcrumbs
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
    salt and pepper to taste

    Combine all the seasoning and breadcrumbs.
    Remove the skins from the sausages, wrap round the egg and roll in the breadcrumb mixture until well coated.
    Cook at 200 degrees for approx 25 minutes, turning halfway through.

    As easy as that. 260 cals each and 26g protein.

    Have a look online for sweet potato pancake recipes. Basically just sweet potato with egg and cinnamon if you want it. More of an omelet but better texture. I have mine with salad or raw veg.
    (I also have gluten issues, atm I have plain yogurt with nuts and seeds for breakfast.)

    Okay so my personal trainer and nutritionist are encouraging me to add eggs to my diet, specifically to breakfast. They also want me to eliminate my morning toast. The problem? I only like my eggs two ways. The first is "eggies in a basket" (cut a hole in bread, butter the heck out of it, drop it in a pan, crack the egg into the hole, fry up together, until the yoke is just barely still runny) or over medium with toast and meat, preferably fried in butter or bacon fat. Obvisously not what they intended. So I need ideas on how to make eggs (and specifically egg whites) more tolerable. The consitency of scrambled eggs makes me gag just thinking about them (doesn't matter if you add anything to it, still can't stand them) and hard-boiled eggs don't float my boat either. MFP is my last hope before I go back to the nutritionist and say "Nope, can't do the egg thing"

    Eggs in butter or bacon should hit the spot, just drop the bread.

    Protein for breakfast yum, yum.

    If you are going to cook your eggs in bacon fat, why not add some bacon?

    Fried eggs over hash brown potatoes made with onion, peppers, mushrooms and herbs is better than toast.

    i line the cups of a muffin tin with a piece of thin sliced deli meat (turkey or chicken usually), then crack the egg, or egg white into the "meat cup" sprinkle with a bit of my favorite cheese and bake it. these are very portable and yummy. I have also added fresh spinach, you can add anything you like really.

    I fry 2 egg whites and one whole egg with some zero calorie cooking spray. I use one piece of cheese and cut it in thirds so each egg gets a little cheese and I cook up a slice of ham to go with. It's delicious

    BTW both your trainer & your nutritionist are RIGHT....eggs for breakfast gives me far more control for the rest of the day & I'm not only not having the cravings but I easily eat likely about 300-400 calories a day less than on non-egg days

    I took a look at my food diary and realized i'm same way, I eat a lot more extra calories on non-egg days but I'm scared to eat
    more eggs than twice a week, I know some say they are not bad but in my family high cholesterol is a big concern.

    I used to love my snooze button as well and I won't lie I hit it twice this morning, but this only takes me maybe 10 minutes to make. And only using one yolk makes it lower in fat and cholesterol.

    This is what I was going to suggest! They're very good and if you like medium cooked, you can bake to that consistency if you get the timing right. I usually make them with ham slices but I might have to try chicken/turkey. If your meat is sliced quite thin and/or tears, you can even double up the slices to make sure the egg doesn't leak through. Also, be sure to spray the muffin tin with Pam or similar - those things can really stick, especially if the egg leaks through the meat slices! You could also add in some pre-cooked veggies. Oven at 400 F, bake for 12-15 min

    ETA: I also make a breakfast casserole from time to time. Not sure if you'd like it since it'd be kind of omelet like?
    Using a large bowl, I beat 10 eggs, add in 2 boxes (10 oz I think) of thawed frozen chopped spinach that's been well drained/squeezed, some cooked meat (ham, bacon, turkey bacon, peperoni), a small container of crumbled feta (6 oz), stir it all together and then pour into a sprayed or greased 9x13 baking pan. Cook for 20-25 min on 350 and you've got breakfast for 6 days. You could probably also add in some cooked shredded potato to bulk it up a bit.

    I just started eating eggs for the first time in my life. I'm still not a huge fain, but sometimes I find they're like tofu--kind of tasteless and just absorb the flavor of whatever they're with. I appreciate these ideas.

    What I do most often is eat them with lots and lots of veggies. I suppose they're technically scrambled, but the way I cook them, you can sometimes barely tell there's even eggs in the meal.

    1 cup (85g) Birdseye frozen peppers/onions
    A whole or half bag of fresh steam-in-bag broccoli, already steamed (or a couple of cups of frozen kale, or a ton of cooked asparagus...)

    Saute that all up so it's hot together. Create a middle in the pan and add two fork-beaten eggs. As the egg cooks, start stirring it into the veggies. The egg ends up just kind of coating the veggies, so I end up with very few scrambled chunks of egg alone.

    Then I'll do a side of ham or sausage.

    (I used to be someone who didn't even eat french toast--or if I did, I'd scrape off any "egg drippings" that cooked onto the bread. So I'm making progress! I've added eggs to my menu to get more fat, and I try to eat 2 per day.)

    Oh I see. In that case I eat spinich with two or three eggs. Also omelettes are pretty good, fill full off veggies and bit of cheese..

    how do you cook the eggs with the spinich? Omelets have the whole scrambled egg consistency problem for me....
    If your omelettes have the same consistency as scrambled eggs, you're making them wrong.

    Make frittatas. They're like omelettes, but without the folding. It's like egg pizza.

    I fry them over medium using Pam cooking spray (0 calories) and add Chalula Chili Garlic hot sauce. :happy:

    You can make them into a quiche. 5-6 eggs, a can of evaporated milk beaten together with whatever seasonings you like. I usually use salt and pepper, onion powder, perhaps some garlic powder, and a little nutmeg. Pour into a pie crust with veggies of your choice, left over meat, and a little cheese. Bake for about an hour, until the filling is set. One pie will make 6-8 servings, depending upon how you slice it. This is good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

    You could also try making an omelet adding the filling of your choice.

    Have you tried corn tortillas? Mission Corn Tortillas are gluten free and you can find them at any grocery store (or Wal-mart). You could make a yummy egg burrito with turkey, cheese, and salsa? :)

    Eggs in the AM have been part of my path to success. I never used to eat breakfast and when I did it was carbs. When I switched to protein made all the difference as it stayed with me longer. I eat 2 pickled eggs each morning. not as bland and boring as hard boiled as they have a little flavor, and convenient as heck. make a dozen over the weekend and just take a couple out each morning when I hit the road.

    "consistency of scrambled eggs" really rather depends how, and for how long you cook them. My mother has them kind of soft and runny, and I cook mine longer to be drier and firmer.

    Anyway, I'd probably chuck 3 eggs, 200ml of milk, 1 scoop of vanilla or unflavoured protein powder in a jug, blend/mix till smooth, then fry in a tbsp of olive oil. Voila. Protein pancake.

    If you have to be eating protein, but you can't stand eggs, why not have some other kind of protein? Just because it's breakfast doesn't mean you have to have breakfast food. Be a rebel :smokin: and eat fish or poultry or whatever it is you do like.

    Eggs really are great. I love eggs. Eat them almost every day.

    As far as gluten/wheat free options go, the corn tortillas and gluten free bread is a good idea if you need that starch to go with your eggs....I am the same way.

    By the way, OP, do YOU think you have a gluten issue? You would have certain symptoms that may suggest, however they could also be symptoms to an unrelated medical condition. I think your primary physician or an allergist would be most qualified to make this diagnosis and not a trainer/nutritionist.

    There should be some recipes for Egg muffin recipes. It's basically a muffin that is made out of eggs, meat (ground beef is good), and a vegetable (chopped brocoill or shreaded zuccini). What's nice about it is that you make 12 of them at a time so it's a grab and go. I did see a recipe that uses a muffin tin with each spot has some sliced ham lining the cup then you take egg and put one in each cup. Bake in a 400 degree oven until the eggs are cooked to the level you want them.

    I make myself omletts every morning. They are quick and you can put whatever you want in them. My favorite is mushroom and spinach.

    Kind of sucks that you can't stand the consistency of scrambled eggs. Makes me think you've never had real scrambled eggs before. I used to hate them too until I learned how to make them right. I love scrambled eggs with cilantro on top : / If you have the cals to spare, fluff it with milk or drop a tbsp. of butter in the pan before adding the eggs. They key is to 1) not scramble before putting the egg in the pan, 2) alternate stirring on the heat and removing the pan off the heat. Keep doing this until the eggs are no longer runny and are dry on the inside.

    Before I started my weight loss journey my favorite breakfast was 3 eggs scrambled in a buttered pan with shredded gouda and cilantro on top...

    sorry dont know if anyone else mentioned this -- but i make little egg cups in a muffin tin. usually i put wonton wrappers as a base, but you can do it without.

    mix in arugula, peppers, mushrooms anything you like and make little muffin things -- ive made them ahead and eaten them throughout the week.

    Ok, i read through only half of the posts - sorry if i suggest something someone already has.

    I lovvve love love eggs.. its one of my favorite foods. I like them soo many different ways. I usually prefer over medium over some hashbrowns. but I also like poached, hard boiled, deviled, etc.

    One way you may like is Scotch Eggs. They.are.so.good. and when you make a batch they last a few days or the whole week and they are very filling. My recipe is carb free and gluten free. Go to the link for pics. :)

    6 pre hard boiled eggs ( cooled, peeled, and dry)
    1 lb lean ground breakfast sausage
    1 beaten egg
    1 Tbsp gluten free Worcestershire sauce (can be omitted)
    2 tsp garlic powder
    ½ Tbsp Cajun seasoning mix
    ½ cup parmesan cheese
    ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (i used Monterrey Jack and a little Mexican blend)
    1 tsp poultry seasoning (I used Johnny Salt instead)
    ½ tsp salt
    ½ tsp black pepper

    Instructions
    Preheat oil in deep fryer to 365.
    Put sausage in a bowl add: Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, poultry seasoning, Cajun seasoning, and mozzarella cheese.

    Mix it all together.
    Then in a separate bowl beat an egg.
    In another bowl mix: Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper.
    Now separate your meat mixture into 6 patties.
    Place your cooled, peeled, and dry hard boiled egg on a meat mixture patty, and roll in hands around your egg until covered and ball shaped. (this was a lil difficult but it eventually comes together)
    Dip and roll in egg wash mixture, Then roll in Parmesan mixture till covered.

    Repeat with other eggs.
    Deep fry a couple at a time for 5 minutes.
    Serve with favorite dipping sauce, hot sauce or Mustard.
    If you don't want to deep fry you can bake at 400 for 30 minutes.

    You can also pan fry in oil turning ever 2 or 3 minutes until golden brown.

    I also suggest Chorizo and Eggs to anyone but since you dont like scrambled.. you probably wont like it. but its on the same website.

    My normal breakfast is two eggs, either scrambled or baked, two slices of toast with margarine and grape jelly, and two slices of bacon. Tell your trainer to stuff it!

    Eggs in a basket is awesome too!

    Have you tried the breakfast bakes? We make them on the weekend and just cut into squares and freeze. Pop out and throw in microwave.

    2 cups hash browns
    6 eggs
    1/2 cup milk
    Meat of your choice, we like diced ham
    Cheddar cheese 3/4 cup

    Layer in bottom of 9x13
    Hash browns, eggs beaten with milk, choice of meat, cover with cheese and bake @ 350 for 45 or till done.
