Weight belt help!

:blushing: Dumb question I know, but I am not sure which size belt to get. I am a woman, and as the only ones sold locally are men's I can't find anywhere that sells ones small enough so I can try one on. I am having to venture online.
I am looking at Harbinger as they seem to do ladies ones, but don't know if I should go for a small or extra small as either would technically 'fit'. My waist size is at the upper end of the XS range, and the lower end of the S range.
Any advice? :ohwell:

This is the best weightlifting belt on the market for the money:

I have one and it is a great investment. You'll never have to buy another one and it provides great support. There's a sizing chart on the website and you can get it in a bunch of different colors. Liftinglarge.com has great customer service and ships promptly; I've always had a good experience with them and recommend them highly.0 -
It looks perfect, and I guess if it will last 'forever' it is not so pricey. Unfortunately (I should have said!) I am in the UK :-(0

not sure a belt is needed at the moment for you.
How long have you been lifting? how heavy are your lifts?
I have been going for 6months and DL over 200lbs and squat 180 and I don't use a belt yet.0 -

This. I have been told not to use a belt until it gets so heavy I can't possibly keep form (ie start rounding my back) without a belt. Using a belt early on isn't doing your core any favors.0 -

This. What are your lifting goals? Why are you buying a belt?0 -
I have been lifting for about 6m, I am 5'5" and weigh 51kg/112lbs and DL 70kg/154lb
I want to build muscle and, more importantly, strength.
Belt was suggested by trainer for use on specific lifts as I am finding it difficult to keep my spine straight on some of the lifts and am hyperextending on the OHP. My core itself is pretty strong: I can plank for 3min with 10kg balanced on my back - but not without begging for mercy by the end ;-) , but I have a pelvis injury that is not helping things.0 -
a belt helps whether you are lifting light or heavy. i'd probably guess you need a XS0

I might argue you have core endurance, but not necessarily core strength. (With strength being defined as a maximal effort..)
A belt a a tool to help you lift more; it won't magically address your form issues.
With that being said I would get a S if I were you. You sound very petite, and thus chances are if you changed size it would be up rather than down.0
