Updating nutritional info?

Hi guys, so I've lost 6.3kg (13lbs) since I started in late feb (woohoo!) and when I entered it today it asked me if I wanted mfp to update my nutritional limits/amounts. Just curious how drastically do they change them? And how often would you reccommend I update (ie. every 5kg, 10kg..?)
I originally used that 'in place of a roadmap' thread (awesome btw) and the links to work out my TDEE etc etc, so for now I'm leaving things as is as I feel its working well for me so far. I know at a certain point I'll have to recalculate this when my weight changes a bit more too.
Anyway, just wanted to find out your opinions; how often should I update/should I bother?

Update when you stop losing at the rate you want. :-P
But really as long as you're happy with your progress, don't change anything. If weight loss slows/stops, recalculate and eat a bit less.0 -
You should recalculate your TDEE every five pounds.0

I would update, of course using your newly calculated TDEE and not MFP's estimation since you are following the TDEE method. It's usually recommend to update your goals at least every 5kg/10lbs.0

Ok, thanks I'm glad I asked; didn't realise I should be recalculating my TDEE so frequently. I think I'll go find those links again and work it out, but I might wait a couple of weeks before updating; just curious to see if I'll still be burning at my current limit. If I'm still plodding along at a steady pace I'm happy!0

If you're doing TDEE, definitely recalc every 5-10 pounds but don't let MFP calculate for you or they'll reset to their defaults. You'll need to go through whatever website you used to get your TDEE calc and reset custom goals. (ETA: just noticed you said that's what you'll be doing in your last reply hehe)
Also, as you get closer to goal, make sure you adjust the % of deficit from your TDEE to make sure it's appropriate:
5-10 pounds, 10%
10-20 pounds, 15%
20+ pounds, 20%0 -

Thanks for this; definitely don't want mfp's settings back; I was on 1200 per day and when I learned about TDEE and all that realized I should be eating 1600 a day! (much better lol.) Just to clarify did you mean I should lower the deficit % as I get closer/have less to lose? (Or did you mean increase the percentage as I get closer; ie. 'once you've lost: 5-10 pounds change to 10%, 10-20 pounds etc etc.')
(Sorry its a stupid question, but it would be just like me to read it wrong and stuff myself around. I'm still learning!)0
