C25K or any running Before & After piccies

I started out running between telephone poles on the highway when I lived in the country. Man those things were far apart! Then I went to C25k and here is my first to fourth half marathon side by side. I hope this works first time posting a pic!

First pic - Before
Second - C25K 3 times a week and just watching what I was eating. Had just started 30DS a few days before the pic so it really the change you see is from running.
Last - 20 days into 30DS and on the last week of C25K.
I don't have good shots of it but my *kitten* fell off during that second pic. One day my pants were tight in the bum and the next they were baggy. I'm sure it was gradual, just one of those NSV type of moments. I tried on every pair of pants that I owned just to "double check".
Graduation Day - last Friday. I had just pulled a few split shifts and this was during the break of one of those days..so a little less than enthusiastic but I did it
I am now working on the 10k program 3 times a week and will be doing a circuit free weight routine on the off days with a day of fun somewhere in there.0 -
I have just started up the c25k program for the second time - this time doing the zombie c25k. It is definitely easier the second time around but wanted to start slow as running triggers my asthma and I stopped running after completing the c25k 6 months ago (I just found running on a treadmill so boring).
I never lost weight the first time around but I did tone up and feel a lot better. I guess this makes sense as it was the only exercise I was doing and I wasn't watching what I was eating. This time I'm doing the c25k, 30 day shred and workouts on the elliptical and logging everything I eat, so hopefully I will see the scale start to move soon0 -

There's this thing called Endurance .. sometimes called Stamina.
And it is the most awesome thing ever.
If you can run for a minute... imagine running for 10.
If you can run for 10.. imagine running for 30.

I hope you learn to love it. No pics (I'm at work...shhhhh.) I started at 5' 7", 199 lbs, size 38 pants, XL shirts back in 2011. I could barely run several hundred feet without walking. Now I am 137 lbs, Size 30 pants, sm shirts. Besides controlling what and how much I ate (which is the most important thing IMO) running is the only exercise I get. Over the past few years I have run a bunch of 5Ks, a couple of 10 Ks, a couple of 10 milers and 2 half marathons. I run them without stopping, even the half marathons and my speed is up to 8 and a half to nine minute miles. I really like running, but want to know something funny? My brain tries to talk me out of it EVERY SINGLE TIME! Stick with it, don;t do too much too fast and eat reasonably and you will be amazed!0

My C25k work in progress. Please note that I DID NOT finnish this ANYWHERE CLOSE to the 8week program. I took it at my own pace, and did eventually finnish. I'm currently signed up for my first 5k April 20th. I have a quote next to my treadmill at eye level "I am stronger than my excuses" I cant tell you how many times that got me through it.

I don't have pictures, but I have dropped about 33 lbs since I first started with C25k in August of 2013.
I will say, in my opinion only, C25k alone will not make you lose weight. It's way too easy to eat back the relatively few calories you burn, and then some.
What C25k DID do for me is two-fold:
1) It increased my fitness to a level where I could comfortably work up to enough exercise to burn significant calories (I now run 5-10 miles at a time regularly, longest run is 13.5 miles. I couldn't jog more than a couple hundred feet when I started).
2) It made me very aware that controlling my caloric intake was the only truly effective means of dropping weight.
I eat whatever I want, whenever I want for the most part, I simply eat less of it. I have also found that I don't want to eat a big greasy burger, that I have to run for over an hour to work off, quite as often.
The big bonus for me is that the more weight I drop, the easier it is to run longer, which helps me stay continuously dropping.0 -
C25K definitely works!!! I did the 3 runs a week and counted my calories using MFP and it helped me to lose almost 30lbs. I now love running and run 5K 4-5 times a week:D0

I mix 5k running in with my current training. When I first started program last year I had to walk and run 5k. Now I can run 10 miles non stop. Running and cycling makes my legs pretty bulky but oh we'll lol.0

This is so inspiring! I have never completed the C25k but I just picked it up again and I'd like to just not stop a practice of running. I'm ready to be lean, strong, powerful! It's amazing and interesting (i mean yeah, it makes sense) how much younger people look after they have lost weight from healthier habits/activity. I recently turned 33 and I'd like to spend the remainder of my life feeling great about my fitness, my body, and my determination (in more areas than one).0

I started off walking because I was too heavy to run whenever I would try to run for 5 minutes I would injure an ankle or something. gradually as the wait come off the walking went to running then with the help of C25K my stride and distance improved. Now this week im set to run between 15-20 miles, last week I ran 12. What a difference it has made in many aspects of my life. I can breath, i feel stronger and fitter as I run longer and longer...overall just feel more powerful and confident than before.
At my highest 230 in July
At 199lbs as of Halloween
At my lowest 178lbs!
18lbs from my goal so close I can taste it...now if only the scale would move lol
