I have a butterfly in my hip/stomach. Got it after I separated from my first husband. It has an eye in it's wing so I felt it signified freedom from the idiot and something to watch over me.

I want another one but I still have to be convinced to do it since I think where I want it placed will be painful.

    where you want it placed?

Ribs. Not a lot of flesh there but I think it would look cool.

I don't have any, but I love looking at them on other people, especially if they're well-done.

3 doves on my lower ribs/hip.

A cross and the word "fearless" on the back of my neck.

"She flies with her own wings" on my ribs by breasts.

I have two rib tattoos and they didn't hurt (I was extremely skinny when I got both of the tattoos also…. 97 lbs). Ribs are the most painful area though and everyone has a different pain threshold. The tattoo artist warned me before he began tattooing that it's the most painful place and to let him know if I need him to stop.

If you want the tattoo on your ribs, just do it. It'll be over before you know it.
  • Hey! I have a few tattoos!

Skulls and roses sleeve, evil dolls head with wings on my chest, a black cat on my left leg, a dragon and heart on my right ankle, a melting heart on my lower back, a pin-up on my left shoulder, a rose on my left arm, the beginning of a new sleeve on my left arm and on my right wrist I have 'Euphoria take my hand'. I love tattoo's!

"Dare to dream" is on my left wrist. You can see it in my pictures. I think they're set so anyone can see them.

I'm thinking about getting another one, but I can't decide on a design, size, and placement (maybe my back), yet. I'm an animal rescuer. I'd like to figure out a way to commemorate the animals I've adopted and lost, through the years.

I've got four, plan to get a lot more in the future but I'm waiting until I've reached my goal weight or am close :)

First, this one was for my dad who died of cancer "Dream Love Cure" on my right shoulder
    1084_zps1862a6e1.jpg

Second, my sister and I got matching foot tattoos "fearless"
    1234_zpse83b23f1.jpg

Third, biggest one on my right inner forearm.

And fourth, the white tree of Gondor in white ink from Lord of the Rings, left inner forearm (it's a bit more subtle now, this was right after it was done)
    whitetree_zpsc78207bb.jpg

ETA: Re-sized it but apparently re-sizing hates me, I'll try again later if it doesn't change in a bit.

  • I have really dumb tattoos. Haha. I have a companion cube from the video game portal on my back, and bob-ombs with parachutes going down my outter thigh. I don't have really novel ideas for things but I used to work at a tattoo shop and decided to get these on a whim.
  • Anyone have experience with stomach tattoos to cover really old (post baby) stretch marks?

    I have six.

My chest piece of two love birds holding dogtags, saying.. "my husband, my hero", and the banner says, "Amor Vincit Omnia". Latin for Love Conquers All. I got this tattoo when my husband was deployed to Iraq. My ankle has a butterfly, my lower back has a sun, my left shoulder has an ocean scene with a dolphin and my right shoulder has my husbands name with the symbol for "vow".
  • I have four right now, but plan on getting many...many more :) All of mine have meaning behind them (although some of the ones that I get in the future will be fillers between those that have meaning as I plan on getting half sleeves).

When I was 19, I got my first tattoo and I was hooked ;) a tribal with my oldest son's name on my lower back,
my second one is a large sun that fits between my shoulder blades with a tribal heart in the middle with my middle sons name in it, my third a Koi fish that covers my foot with my youngest sons name, and my fourth a dream catcher with my husband and my first initial in it (that I designed and drew myself, with a quote that I wrote going along the length of it) that goes from the middle outside of my shoulder blade all the way down my ribcage and ends just over my hipbone.
The I am planning on getting both of my daughters names next on the inside of my wrists.

Celtic cross on my back because I'm Irish, my provinces flag on my lower back, Daisy on my thigh because it my fav flower, and it also covers a childhood scar, and a four leaf clover, star, heart, and moon on my calf.

I have a pair of traditional roses on my back, an anchor on my hip (Rhode Island pride!), a sugar skull on my thigh that I want covered, two tiny stars in my ear, a peace sign on my wrist, and the words "'twas brillig, and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe" in my inner arm.

I'm getting a Doctor Who-themed sleeve started this coming Tuesday :)

Note: I'm not an alcoholic, Serenity has just always been an important thing in my life.
