Body media calorie burn estimates

I have a couple questions I am confused about. I understand that I plug in my weight, height, age and how much I workout and all. Once I've done that I get a particular number that comes up that gives me an estimate of how many calories I would approximately burn. Is that number for the day only or is it intended to cover my sleep as well? So basically is that a number for 24 hours of calorie burn? There's just so much I'm trying to understand!

Thanks so much

Hi! So I'm pretty sure you're referring to the number for your calorie count for the day, and it does cover the hours that you're asleep as well. Basically if you're up from, say, 8am to 11pm, that number is the amount of calories you should be consuming throughout your day. As you log your foods the calorie count goes down and you know when you're eating too much, or too little.

That number has already taken into account what kind of lifestyle you have, whether you are sedentary, lightly active or very active. When you exercise on top of that, your number will increase because you burned some calories, so you can eat a little extra. The more exercise you do, the more calories you can consume without going over your daily limit!

    Hope that helped. Good luck!
