Smart Balance light with Omega 3s - I just love the taste and can probably use the Omega 3s
Freshly ground raw, unsweetened peanut butter with or without banana
    Mashed avocados or berries
    Hummus
    Apple Butter
    Laughing Cow light cheese

Okay, I just had breakfast, now I'm hungry again!

Apple Butter is the greatest thing! You can make it from diced up apples, sugar and cinnamon in the crock pot. Its basically just applesauce that has been cooked longer and it is divine! I put it on toast or bagels or *gasp* ice cream on the off chance that I have some!

Add grass fed to this statement and that is me. Except I no longer eat bread of any kind.

I don't have any intolerances to grain and would never remove it, but for people that do I can sympathize.

Kerrygold is the only butter I buy. Best store bought butter in existence.

I usually use I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Light - I rarely have toast with butter on it, so I basically only use it while cooking, and not very much of it. I know I should switch to real butter, but I can't really tell the difference and I've been using this stuff for years, even before I was trying to lose weight.

Real butter or Smart Balance w/Olive oil - just because it's softer & easier to spread on soft bread

We use whichever low fat spread is on offer in the supermarket. I don't actually really like 'real' butter, and I certainly don't like the extra calories it adds to my diary! That said, I rarely eat much bread now as I am a recovering bread-and-butter-holic - clean for several months now!! :drinker:

I Can't Believe It's Not Butter recently did an advertising campaign here in the UK. They changed the recipe and used the slogan "I can't believe I Can't Believe It's Not Butter just got better". The idea behind that is ridiculous. Their name suggests that you already can't tell the difference between their product and real butter. If it tastes so much like butter that you can't tell the difference between the two, how can you make it better? You can't make it taste more like butter if I already "can't believe it's not butter".

Either way, for most purposes I actually prefer artificial spreads over real butter. They're what I was brought up on. We virtually never ate proper butter, it was always some type of spread like I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. Real butter generally tastes too... buttery. If that makes any sense. Butter is obviously far better for cooking with (I mean, Mashed Potato without real butter doesn't taste half as good) but just to spread on bread or a cracker or something, the fake stuff wins every time.

I will make do with Lurpak Spreadable Lightest. But ideally I would have Lurpak or President butter - I seem to like butter which looks white in appearance rater than yellow/golden:-/

Usually on a sandwich I wont bother with butter & just use Hallmans light mayo instead.

I rarely use either butter or margarine on bread, though when I do I usually go for Smart Balance "better butter" (mix of butter, canola and evoo with added plant sterols).

I use butter if I have some sort of lunch meat on bread. Otherwise I prefer Nutella or jam without anything else...
  • Real butter, preferably Kerrygold or Lurpak.

I use Earth Balance because regular butter makes me sick
