A WOMAN who hopes to become the fattest woman in the world is now 30,000 calories closer to her 453.5kg (1000lb) goal with a festive feast that could have fed dozens of people.
Donna Simpson, who weights 292kg, sat in a reinforced metal chair, chowed down on the world's biggest Christmas dinner as she ate for two straight hours.
The single mother-of-two, from New Jersey in the US, tucked into two 11kg (25lb) turkeys, two maple-glazed hams, 6.8kg (15lbs) of potatoes - 4.5kg (10lbs) roast, 2.3kg (5lbs) mashed, five loaves of bread, 2.3kg of herb stuffing, three litres of gravy, three litres of cranberry dressing and an astonishing 9kg (20lbs) of vegetables.
After polishing off her enormous main course, she still had room for dessert and ate a "salad" made of marshmallow, cream cheese, whipped cream and cookies.
Simpson's two children, Devin, 14, and Jacqueline, three, enjoyed a more modest feast.
The 157.5cm tall Simpson defended her meal, saying: "I eat as much as I want, whenever I want but at this time of year I really go all out.
"Christmas should give you carte blanche to do whatever you want."
Simpson, who insists she is healthy, told the Sunday Mirror newspaper in the UK: "People who feel guilty about eating are hilarious.'
She makes a living from being fat, getting paid to make public appearances and keeping a website where people can pay to watch her eat.
Already a Guinness world record holder for being the largest woman to ever give birth, Simpson hopes to gain 160kg (25 stone) more and officially become the fattest woman in the world.
She got the Guinness World Record as the world's fattest mother, when she gave birth in 2007 weighing 241kg (38 stone).
She needed a team of 30 medics to deliver her daughter Jacqueline during a high-risk Caesarean birth.
Simpson met Jacqueline's father Philippe on a dating site for plus-size people, even though he weighed only 63.5 kg (10 stone). He supported her 12,000-calorie a day diet and was a "belly man" who loved her enormous shape.

Why?
WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY!?
And I'm pretty sure that is the question her children will eventually ask when she dies an obesity related death.0 -
I know. But she's "healthy"!
Argh. Just makes me angry, really.0 -
On my - that is insane!
I have never understood why anyone would want a record as the fattest person.. it's not something to be proud of!
as for saying she 'healthy'.... i seriously doubt that.0 -
Absoultely incredable. How can any mother want to eat herself to death before her child starts school?0
-
I read a story on her last year...I'm honestly surprised she is still alive.0
-
that. I. MY GOD. she's more than TWO of me and wants to be like FOUR of me ><
I want to throw the FFFFF word in there. but HOLY CRAP!
you can't aspire to be that and be considered a "healthy" person. no way in the world. My father is 180kgs and his heart is actually growing and the muscles around it are hardening.0 -
makes me feel a bit queezy0
-
Truly sickening! It's sad to know there are people out there that are so blind.0
-
america is the land of the free and sometimes i think some ppl abuse that. when she's sick and disabled who has to pay for health insurance for her? i have to work so hard and someone like this who doesn't care anything about herself or her kids. i'm so sorry for those poor kids because the sad part is that she probably live a long miserable life and burden those poor kids. SHE IS SICK, BUT THOSE WHO PAY 2 SEE HER ARE EVEN SICKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0
-
I'm sure in the UK that Social Services would have been called to take poor Jacqueline away!!!!
I did not that it said she was single even thought the father of the child was "only 10st" and "supported her" eating habits...... he may well be a single parent himself when the mother of his child passes away because of a weight related issue..... ridiculous :explode:0 -
My husband told me about her yesterday and I felt sick just hearing what she ate. And she says she "healthy"?! I just don't want to pay for her medical bills when she pays for all this weight she putting on. How can people pay her to see her eat?! And what is she teaching her kids? I've heard of parents getting in legal trouble for their kids weighing too much, and she wants to be heavier?0
-
wow it takes all kinds to make world go around
i want to cry now... but not for her..shes happy with her life choices
i think we would all be more understanding if she had the goal to get fat then re lose the pounds0 -
so sad for her children ...when she is no longer here.0
-
So many things you could be famous for. How about donating all that extra food to families that need it instead of over indulging for publicity!! Makes me VERY angry :mad:0

Simpson, who insists she is healthy, told the Sunday Mirror newspaper in the UK: "People who feel guilty about eating are hilarious.'
This part of the article disgusts me. She's healthy? She is putting food and wealth before her own children. Revolting.
I heard about her last year and after hearing what her main course for Christmas was, it just angers me.
Best way to explain it....she is a pig.
Sorry if its harsh...0 -

Everything in the article pointed to him no longer being there. "He was a belly man". He must not care for his child at all to let her grow up in a house with the mother. It breaks my heart to think of them sitting there watching her eat. I think I am going to go :sick:0 -
This makes me angry. WOW Her child will be known for the kid who was given birth to in the world record books by the fattest woman. How f'n selfish.0

I agree with all of the other posts about this woman. I guess I do have a question, though. If she is so healthy, why did she need a team of 30 doctors to help her deliver child c-section. Obviously the large quantity of fat obstructed a normal vaginal birth and it appears it also had a negative impact on the c-section birth of her daughter. That, my friends, is NOT HEALTHY. This woman is a heart attack waiting to happen. As her heart struggles to pump blood to all of her vital organs and through her body with each increasing pound the heart will have to work even harder. She will be reducing her life expectancy significantly if she continues to gain weight and she certainly won't be alive to share in her children and the lives of her grandchildren. So very sad that someone hasn't stopped her from doing this to herself - so destructive.0

Her poor family....wow... She needs help0

Obviously this woman has no self worth what so ever! She probably was an obese woman who just could not lose weight, so instead of everyone teasing her for it or instead of her being embarassed about it she just decided to make it look like she was really trying to be that big! I feel terrible for her children who will end up losing their mother at an early age! Maybe they will learn from her and as adults will see the hurt their mother lived!0
-
WHY? lol0
-
I don't understand how this can be a goal. Really? No good will come of it.0
-
This woman represents my worst nightmare.
Yeah, she's "healthy" all right. When her knees snap under her weight and she ends up with out-of-control diabetes, she's going to be begging someone to help her lose some weight!0 -
Just threw up in my mouth a little. How irresponsible. She will die and leave her kids alone but before then she is teaching them terrible life habits. Makes me sick to think of what she consumed that could have fed so many people that cannot afford to have a Christmas dinner at all.
People disappoint me so much.0 -
This article says "Single mother of two" but there is a linked article on the site is from March, where he is talked about as her partner, and how he encourages her to eat more. Gross.
DONNA Simpson already weighs 273kg, but she is determined to nearly double her size to become the world's fattest woman.
The 42-year-old from New Jersey, US, told the Daily Mail she was set on reaching the 450kg mark in just two years.
Remarkably she insisted she was healthy, despite now needing a mobility scooter when she goes shopping.
"My favourite food is sushi, but unlike others I can sit and eat 70 big pieces of sushi in one go,' she told the Daily Mail.
"I do love cakes and sweet things - doughnuts are my favourite."

Ms Simpson, who wears XXXXXXXL dresses, eats mounds of junk food and tries to move as little as possible.
She already holds the Guinness World Record as the world's fattest mother, when she gave birth in 2007 weighing 240kg.
She needed a team of 30 medics to deliver her daughter Jacqueline during a high-risk Caesarean birth.
Yet although she can only move seven metres before needing to sit down, she wants to be even bigger.
"I'd love to be 1000lb," she said.
"It might be hard though. Running after my daughter keeps my weight down."
Rather than advise her to slim down, her long-term partner Philippe, 49, instead encourages Ms Simpson to eat more.
He met her on a dating site for plus-size people and is a self-confessed fat admirer, although he himself only weighs 68kg.
"I think he'd like it if I was bigger," Ms Simpson said.
"He's a real belly man, and completely supports me."
To achieve her goal, Donna says she will need to eat up to 12,000 calories a day, more than six times the average amount.
To fund the massive $750 weekly food shop, she runs a website where men pay her to watch her eat fast food.
Donna's weight problem began early. Her mother made big meals for Donna and her brothers and gave them lots of treats and fattening food.
By the time Donna was nine, she weighed 87kg.
"Food was her way of showing she loved us, she wanted us to eat, and she was very protective of us," Ms Simpson said.
"She wouldn't let anyone say anything bad to us about our weight.
"She would argue with doctors who said it was dangerous."0 -
I'm not trying to start an argument, but doesn't ANYONE feel sorry for her? Before you begin to pass judgement, why don't you bother to look into her story--even a little. Have you even read about her life? I didn't even need to read much to get the impression that It seems like she has psychological problems that stem all the way back from her childhood. Read about the environment she grew up in. Read about the relationships she has had and does have. I don't think she is a bad person. I think she is psychologically challenged. This woman just wants to be happy and unfortunately this desire is going to take her life and she is oblivous to that fact. Do you personally know anyone who weighs as much as she does or even close? Have you talked with that person about WHY they are the way they are and HOW they got there? I think you'd be surprised about the responses. I think about this poor woman's story and think THAT COULD HAVE BEEN ME! But I'm not any of the things you've called her. And I thank God I found a way off that path. I wish her the same.0

I see it more along the lines you do Diane, this same article was posted by another member within the last couple days and the hate that goes out toward this woman is quite shocking. Particularly on a site like this where there are many of us with varied food & weight issues. It took me by surprise at first to see all the unkind & judgmental remarks going on toward the womans food issues and the woman herself.
Who knows how many ppl are on this site with similar issues and simply not in the papers or Internet news article and are quietly trying to gain back control of their life here? Members here struggle with varying weights and to see the comments on this topic is a bit mind blowing to say the least.
They say when you look at another you see things you like and you have within yourself already, which is why you're often attracted to that person as a friend. It works the other way as well, there might be something about a person that you find distasteful, it's often unconscious but later you realize it's something that you struggle with yourself..
This site represents the world we live in by all the varied backgrounds etc., so nothing should really surprise me about ppl's comments and such on here anymore. But sometimes... sometimes....they still in fact do... :indifferent:
This article is of a women who has not yet gained control of her life, her way of controlling it IS food she just doesn't perhaps fully understand she's not in control but the food is, it's her drug, just like it was once in our lives.
Those of us on MFP are very fortunate, we've found a place that is helping us gain back control of our lives. I agree with Diane I too hope she is able to gain control over her life before it's too late.
As long as she's alive, it's not too late as we've all found out for ourselves finding MFP.:drinker:0 -
I feel bad for the children.Does she not know the impact she has on their lives?Something is wrong here.:(0
