Is a tomato a fruit or a vegetable?

And an avocado is a berry! The world of fruits and vegetables is a crazy one, that's for sure.0

this question reminds me of a cute Arabic cartoon/song/video:

translation: I'm a red tomato, grown among greens, eat from me you can't get enough and your cheeks become red!0 -
They only declared it a vegetable for tax purposes.
Thanks, Obama!

you think the question of what constitutes a true fruit is bad........... (and btw not all fruits are actually fruits... it's not just a question of fruits masquerading as vegetables....)............ get onto the "what is a berry" debate because apparently kiwi fruits are berries and many things called berries are not actually berries0

and THIS is why I don't do botany. Also the whole definition of a species thing, it's bad enough in animals, plants just screw EVERYTHING up!0 -

Yep. Blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries are not true berries; but a banana and watermelon are. Go figure….0
