Sounds disgusting.......use full fat cheese at least and maybe salsa and dump the rice cakes for pita and I'll forgive this moment of shame.

Homemade pomodoro or marinara sauce > Ketchup.

That's in terms of calories, nutritional value, and taste.

Pizza crust can be made from cauliflower and plantains for low calorie/low carb. Or just make one out of coconut flour or almond meal. Sometimes, higher calorie with higher nutritional value is totally worth the investment.

What? Bake rice cakes with ketchup and cheese for 15 minutes? Rice cakes aren't like a flour crust that needs to bake and cheese sure melts in 5 minutes or less. I'm sorry but this is one odd recipe

MFP says rice cakes are bad.

    http://blog.myfitnesspal.com/2014/04/the-truth-about-rice-cakes/

After reading this recipe, I'm inclined to agree (says the girl who literally just ate rice cakes with pb & j on one and cream cheese and jam on the other).

Rice cakes are a gateway to obesity.

Rice cakes have very little nutritional value that does your body any good, and ketchup is really high in sodium (unless you can afford the escalated price of no-salt-added ketchup). A simple way of creating an alternatively very good crust is by baking La Tortilla Factory Low-Carb/High Fiber wraps and then adding stuff on top. I use tomato paste or sauce for my base, add a thin layer of cheese, pile on your ingredients, then add the rest of the cheese to keep the toppings on the pizza. Bake until well-cooked, cut and serve. Nom nom nom...
