40/40/20 is my guess (protein/carbs/fat)......I am transitioning from weight loss to building/bulking. What say you and why?

Depends on if you're on gear or not. More protein and calories if so, otherwise ratios aren't nearly as critical on a bulk as they can be for maximizing LBM retention on a cut.0

There are no optimal ratios. Ratios are nonsensical, honestly. Think about your macros in absolute terms. Get at least 1.2 grams of protein per lb of lean body mass.0
