America Is Blessed

Despite all the complaints and whining, the failings and struggles, we as a nation are truly blesssed. We have an abundance of food widely available at very reasonable costs. We have the freedom of choice, and the ability to define our lives through those choices. We have opportunities to pursue our dreams and so many amazing marvels and innovations available to us, including this helpful and free fitness buddy thingy.

It's up to you to make it happen. It's not about America or wherever you live. It's up to you. Now go do it.

There are good things and bad things about every country. As a Canadian on a border city, I spend a lot of time there.

I have had oh..... ZERO... bad experiences with Americans.

I don't get your politics, but hey, half the time OUR politics are messed up too.

So carry on 'murica, you're doing just fine.

  • As a Canadian living in China, I can say that you are 100% correct. I get to see first hand people living in poverty that have very limited food choices.

I'm only sad when my wife puts us on a low carb diet.

Love Sadgrandpa! No, America is not perfect by any means, but we have it pretty damn good in comparison to so many others, and yet we insist on complaining about it and taking it for granted. So, agreed!

If you want a reminder that AmericaNs are blessed, check out Netflix's new CNN Crimes of the Century and watch the Amanda Knox episode.

Not to be political, but people don't like America because of foreign policy, and slightly hypocritical stances on 'freedom' and such. For example, supporting dictators when its convenient, or in cases of protecting 'American interests'.

Also, the American middle class, which use to be the strongest in the world is starting to STRUGGLE financially. Even compared to the Canadian middle class we are slipping, and are way behind North Western European middle class. However, the GDP is still going up, meaning we are still extremely productive as a nation, and yet the middle class seas less of those fruits. Where does it go? To rich people, frankly. American rich are more rich than European rich, while European middle class are more 'rich' than American middle class. Does that make sense?

American politics and this country in general is in a downward trend. I feel very patriotic saying this, because we should never dilute ourselves thinking "we are all okay". We are not. There is hope though, and we still have a government structured in a way were justice is practiced and corruption is at a minimum. There is hope!

Definitely makes sense, but still...first world problems. Americans are are much more privileged than they realize. That comment was not directed at you. I mean it more in a general sense.

NP. We hate our government, too. Just waiting for a good time to reform.
