I'm not talking about people who are very thin and trying to get to a healthier weight. I'm talking about people who have the most perfect bodies and their goal is to get to 300, 400, 500 pounds. I mean, I know its a fetish.. But it's so unhealthy.. and I guess I can't judge because to each their own. But what the hell.........
I know a lot of you don't trust youtube links or any links on here.. so for the people who don't like links type in "Weight Gain Biggerthanzoe Getting Fatter".
She has a healthy, completely proportioned beautiful body and makes herself fat...
What's your opinions on that?
And heres the link for others https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98eA31XtsSs

Or a complete maverick lol0 -
Just as you said, it's a fetish thing and sex sells. And pays. She will probably make some serious cash off of that.0

It was for a role.0

to each thier own. some people would rather be large and able to enjoy food to their fullest desire. or the whole fetish thing, which completely escapes me0

1 Seek sympathy
2 to make themselves sick so they can qualify for disability
3 Mental/emotional disturbance is the real underlying problem0 -

In all honesty I think it's just another flavor of disordered eating.0 -
My opinion is that I just don't care what anyone else does with their own body.0

Wait...what? I could be making "some serious cash" right now?

my thoughts on this.
speaking of size gains not in terms of bulking- but just "I want to be the biggest 600 lb woman ever" kind of thing.
I suspect there is a part of it where people are over weight- and have self esteem issues then realize they can get attention when they decide to swing the opposite way to I'm going to get XXX big. I hypothesize it makes them feel in control when they felt like they were not before.0 -

Well, I mean, my boyfriend who is 6'4" weighs 220. If he decided he wanted to look like Captain America, he would need to put on at least 30 lbs of muscle, which is difficult to do when you already have a very high caloric need and need to cover all your nutrient needs. People who weigh a lot and lift have to plan every meal to ensure you're getting enough protein, vitamins, etc.0

I don't think we are talking about putting on "muscle" and serious size for build.
The impression I got from the OP (I cannot watch the video at work) was putting on size just to be big- like HUGE- like morbidly obese huge.0 -

But reading is annoying!! I just wanna look at the title and shoot my mouth off!!
this part gave me a pretty good impression as to the weight gain- not being a bulking gainI'm talking about people who have the most perfect bodies and their goal is to get to 300, 400, 500 pounds
otherwise my response would be (to muscle building bulking/gains)
you think I have a perfect body already- I clearly think I want something else within the range that a healthy drive will achieve.
You're goals and ideals are not my goals and ideals.

well for myself it has always been for sports. I was always the big kid in the team....ive played rugby, volleyball and basketball throughout my whole school life at the end of high school i was 95kg (209pounds) and only about 15%BF
As an adult ive played american football the last 10 years and i was probably at my leanest a few years back with 20% BF and 120kg (264pounds). However my coach told me i needed to put on weight if i wanted to play for the national team so now im at 133kg (293 pounds) and at 24% BF.
The problem i have now is at this weight and still pretty athletic my body is crumbling under the strain and in the last few years ive dislocated my left elbow, torn a tendon in my right elbow, torn a tendon in my foot and last month tore my miniscus, tore a patella fibre and told ive got arthiritis in both knees.
My goal is to get back down to 110kg (242pounds), however that would mean being around 12%BF which im unsure if i can do.
Other reasons why others want to get big......well alot of guys i train with are body builders or strongmen and its about being the biggest mofo around.
Much like how females feel pressured by media to look at pictures of model type women, guys who grew up in the 80s and 90s saw movies full of hulking action stars and have an expectation to look like you can at least lift a car.0 -

I watched an episode last night of my 600 lb life. There was a woman who found that her size made her popular with a certain group. She was considered a queen by her circle of friends and had many men interested in her. She would wear very skimpy clothes and everyone around her considered her beautiful. She was happy that way, but decided to start losing because she knew she was going to die if she didn't get healthy. Her husband told her he wouldn't be attracted to her anymore when she started losing weight. Maybe some of them just need to be accepted, loved or just noticed by someone. Self esteem is difficult for a lot of people.0

Feederism. I saw this fascinating episode on The Learning Channel or Discovery about the subculture of feederism. One person wants to gain enough weight to the point of being bedridden and the other partner enjoys being the feeder/caretaker.0

My thought is it is none of my business what others do with their body. I should qualify that if it were my husband or kids, I would voice my concerns. If one of my friends decided to gain weight to this extent on purpose, it would be none of my business unless asked for my opinion. Other than that, folks are free to do with their bodies as they choose except suicide which is still illegal. Oh, and if they are a danger to themselves or others that can be problematic but if they want to gain weight, by all means go ahead.0

I watched a couple of the My 600 lb Life episodes on TLC that featured morbidly obese folks confined to their beds. It was incredibly sad to see.0 -

I agree. The woman in the feederism episode I watched was already mobidly obese, but her goal was to get to the point she couldn't even walk anymore. I try not to judge others for their goals, but that's just too out there for me to comprehend from a health and fitness standpoint, not to mention a safety standpoint.0 -

Actually, you CAN judge. Sure, sometimes it's "not nice" to judge, but let's be real, humans judge for a reason. Sometimes that reason is to be petty, sometimes it's to be cruel, but sometimes it's to grade on common sense and see if what OTHER people are doing is a smart move or a stupid one.
i.e. Charlie jumped off the roof and broke both his legs trying to jump into the pool. Should I jump? Probably not because Charlie suffered from his own stupidity and lack of common sense. It's the same for people that gain weight to be sexy. Just as an anorexic is broken in mind so is a person who has the drive to become 500lbs. Something up there isn't working correctly. They need help.0 -
I know it sounds weird, but I've met several couples where the man seriously wants to keep the woman fat and get her fatter. I think it's insecurity for the most part (she might leave me for another guy if she's thin), but I also think that there are men who find that to be very attractive. So some women just go for it and enjoy their food and fatten up for the guy. I think most of them probably had weight problems to begin with, and so going along with seems logical since they have what they consider to be love and acceptance (twisted as it is). I'm sure it's easier than dieting- until your joints ache and you're huffing and puffing just trying to get around. That part isn't so easy, and that's where I would say hey, that's not love. That's enabling a self-destructive behavior.
IDK if there are ladies out there who also like to have a heavy partner, I've only seen it in men. As far as I go, when I was heavier I went out on a date with this one man who said "I don't understand why you said in your dating profile that you are overweight but working on it, you're perfect....here, let's pick out a dessert." Man, I was OUTTA THERE! I had a vision of this man feeding me pastries at 500 pounds, housebound and sick. Lol, it was funny. My new husband actually prefers fit women, and though I sometimes feel worried about that (gaining weight), I know it will keep me on my toes in that department, because I want to keep him happy. He's a good man who loves me no matter what I weigh, but I know what he prefers and want to please him. (There is NOTHING wrong with that, btw).0 -
Remember Donna Simpson? Look her up ... She's been on oprah. Her man wanted her to be super fat. Then her man left her and she started wanting to lose weight but by that point she was screwed.0

The liberal in me initially got irritated at your "qualify for disability" reason. Then I remembered this 42 year old guy at the nursing home I used to work at. He was morbidly obese and refused to take care of himself. He had lesions and sores all over his legs that he would intentionally pick at so they would fester and he could stay. *sigh* So yes, it happens. The guy even had an MS in Accounting, but didn't want to live on his own or work. He was pissed as Hell when the convalescent hospital finally made him leave. We even set up living arrangements and helped him get disability, but he liked having his food brought to him and being cleaned up after and waited on by the nurses.0
