That's basically a water fast and is complete torture. If you're going to do something like that, make it a juice fast where you drink several glasses of fresh vegetable juice. I have done several short ones and one for two months with great results. I personally never felt better in my entire life and lost 45 pounds over the 8 weeks. Juice fasts aren't calorie restricted, you end up drinking 1200-1500 calories per day and the fresh juice is loaded with so much vitamins, minerals, and enzymes that your health really does improve all over. Mine was doctor recommended and supervised and resulted in bringing my cholesterol and blood pressure down to normal levels. You don't have to completely fast, even replacing one meal with a glass of fresh veggie juice is a great idea, two is even better, it's a personal choice. Watch fat, sick, and nearly dead on Netflix to get an idea of how it goes. One thing for sure, don't listen to people posting about it who never even tried it. It isn't for everybody, but it isn't as hard to stick with as you think and the benefits are huge.

This sounds like a much better option. Master Cleanse is no joke...and your a**hole will feel like the 7 rings of fire...or so I've heard.

I am impressed. I am not sure I would want to deal with the mess of a whole watermelon at that time of night. You are hard core!

well I eat quiet a bit and start cooking around that time- sometimes I come home and cook a whole big meal at 11something at night- I'm more of a night person- although work says I must be up at the office by 8.

it's exhuasting. But I much prefer to be doing things at that hour.

So yes- watermelon included- although usually it's only half ;) sometimes it's a special occasion.

Watermelon diet- that's what I'm doing this summer :D

Eating syrup and then a lemon? Eating lemons and then syrup? Either scenario makes me pucker. NO thanks.

hahaha right? Super sweet, then super sour, or super sour to super sweet?? My taste buds will go nuts! I guess people think that flavor shock = body shock = weight loss.

    F** you science.

    Hi Guys,

Has any one tried the MAPLE SYRUP DIET/LEMON DIET? Thoughts?

    Thanks,

Don't forget the cayenne pepper. Essential for literally burning the fat away. No solid foods for you, or you'll be fat forever!

    Oy...

It's real, it's the Beyonce cayenne diet. It's not easy but you lose weight fast, and then gain it RIGHT BACK. Not worth the suffering.

One summer I pretty much ate only grilled chicken, watermelon and fresh pineapple. Had the worst tongue ulcers of my life but I loved every single meal.

I've done the master cleanse before and it is ROUGH! I had very bad upset stomach with the cayenne pepper added to the maple syrup and lemon juice. It's not for the faint of heart that's for sure. Lemon water is actually pretty good for you though.

I've seen the price of maple syrup recently so can I swapped to treacle instead? Love both on my pancakes.

Well, I have heard it and tried it and felt I lost water weight and muscle and strength by staving myself. What I gained back was what I lost and more and flab. You will get further by realizing this a lifestyle change and fitness is to be as part of your life as eating. In my opinion, quick fixes are just that, quick! But they do not last. When you are getting paid to gain and lose weight you do a lot of things so I laugh cause beyonce got paid to do this and there are tons of people doing this to themselves for free.

I've never heard of treacle, other than in the novel "Alice in Wonderland." I thought that was something that Lewis Carroll made up. Interesting...

I make my own syrup with brown sugar, so much cheaper and pretty tasty.

I've heard of this. I think there is one where you add cayenne too?! Anyway, WHY does it work? Because your calorie deficit is insanely high from lack of food. There is no magic in the syrup/lemon combo!

Also, back in the day when I was looking for any way OTHER THAN diet and exercise to lose weight, I tried the honey and vinegar blend! SWEET LORD IN HEAVEN! I cannot smell vinegar to this day without wanting to vomit all over!

It's as true as it's ever been, no quick fixes! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

The more the merrier! We should double check with her to make sure she's cool with us pouring syrup on her...but for some reason I don't think it'll be an issue.

This fad diet you're talking about is complete nonsense. Try my way. You'll be much happier.

I'm still waiting for you to pour your syrup on me baby

Ok, I'll be straight with you, I did this "cleanse" when I was 27, I lasted 5 days, I lost about 8-9lbs, I felt crap all the time, tired, dizzy etc.
I decided to stop punishing my body and ate some vegetables to make me feel alive again...I gained the weight back pretty much straight away. It really is a terrible idea, it isn't sustainable long term and I cant imagine that your body will thank you for it.
Just eat at a calorie deficit and move about more, it's easy really. Good luck with whatever you do.

I'm an ant and I thrive on the maple syrup and lemon diet. It's a perfect diet for an insect.

disclaimer: I've never studied ant biology, so it's quite possible that a maple syrup and lemon diet is an inadequate diet for an ant.
