I worked for a boy scout camp as a counselor when I was in my teens and on Wed nights and Friday nights there were campfires and the staff would dress in Native American Indian Authentic costuming Anyway...We all carried these long torches.

To make the torches last longer we used maxi-pads.

One of the guys went to town to get some supplies for one of the evenings and came back with a receipt that had

    Super absorbent Maxi-Pads
    Kerosene
    Razor blades
    face paint
