I assume you're talking a Peanut Butter. If that's the case, any PB is disgusting unless it's 100% natural PB, which has nothing in it but, well, peanuts.

It's not really Peanut Butter if it has something other than peanuts in it.

Really??? You don't even put a little salt into your "natural PB"? It helps bring out the peanuty-ness.

Anyhow, Skippy is better than Jif.

our lab once did a study on aflatoxin levels in PB of a bunch of different butters. Skippy had the most of any we measured...and if you're going to threaten something causing cancer, one of the most potent liver carcinogens known to man is a good one to threaten...

(oh, and I'm SURE they are using the same batch of peanuts for their butters that they did in 2005 when we did that).

that's 2 different ascinine arguments in one post.

    I have to applaud that.

Let's go for three asinine arguments in one thread.

    Skippy> jif

I'm a Peter Pan lover myself.

Kraft extra creamy...not sure we have anything but that and organic in the store I shop at...must be american brands...

Peanut Butter & co over all other peanut butters

I just tried the Peanut Butter & Co PB with honey for the first time this week and, well, I thought I had a PB problem before! I don't think I can go back, now.

Awww, man....now I have to stop eating Skippy? But that's what costco sells in the giant jars I have to buy to keep my kids in PB.

    hazelnut butters > peanut butters

    Because: hazelnuts > peanuts

You have to start with a quality ingredient to get a quality product.

I get mine from Publix. they make their own peanut butter. its just crushed peanuts, you could probably just make or buy some from a health food store like that and add your flaxseed to it. I'm not sure of the other peanut butters out there. I have tried Almond butter, but I'm not a huge fan of it.

I'm a texture freak, so I didn't like the Publix PB... I wasn't expecting it to have sort of gelatin-like texture. It was majorly off putting. I like my PB smooth and creamy (unless I buy the crunchy).

Jif is 98% "clean" so only 2% of your "cheat" is "unclean"...

Go to a health food store and squish your own.

Or just buy some unsalted roasted peanuts and throw them in a food processor....

And people wonder why clean eating gets bashed so often and thoroughly.

No, I wonder why the person making the statement doesn't get held responsible for it rather than anyone and everyone who eats clean. And so begins round 553 gazillion on clean eating bashing.

That is a ridiculous statement (though it is his opinion, and I have seen IIFYM practitioners on MFP tear cauliflower rice lovers a new hole because cauliflower, to them, is "disgusting").

    This ^^

Why is wanting "powdered egg whites, added flaxseed oil, wheat germ and honey" added to peanut butter less of a trendy diet thing than wanting soy added?

because it tasted a lot better the way it was...

Also, they plaster "gluten free, vegan" on the label now.
