I'm hoping to be able to get my running shoes by then. I'm eager to start so key me in!!0

I am so excited to start! I wanted to start yesterday but my sister-in-law & I are training together so we set the date for Monday. Also my GYM is CLOSED until Monday because they are moving. *tear so I am going a whole week without running (maybe that's why I am so eager to start??)
BUT I will be completing a 5k this year and am currently looking up races in the area! runnersworld.com has a ton of info if any of you guys are interested.
YEAH FOR 5k-ers!

I want to do this, too! I tried running this past summer, but injured my calf, so I am looking for the best way to be the healthiest runner possible.

OK PEEPS.... So here goes ..... what a lovely little club.
Saturday it is - i will chart 3 sessions a week. this week - 01.01.11 - 07.01.11 did not realise that was new years day!! how great is that!!
Those doing something different - you can play too... but you can only put in 3 sessions to me a week - so the chart will work...... hope this is ok.
for the first week - 10 points per session, progression to 2nd week 20 points per session and so on...... etc,
Week ending 4th March = D-DAY - the one with the most points wins........
Good luck everyone - and keep me posted!! x x0 -
i am so in. i have a desire deep down to learn to love to run...i have always hated it! here is to a start of a new passion in life...0

I have signed up for the Cowtown Marathon in Fort Worth, Texas, in February, 2011.
I have bought my shoes, and have been doing an hour everyday on the eliptical.
I am going this afternoon to walk/run a mile in the park with my daughter.
I have 60 pounds, I need to lose 100 more pounds, but for the first time ever,
I am hopefully!0 -

No sooner did I get excited by this program, even downloading the app to my phone, than I get stricken with a nasty head cold. I did yoga as much as possible, but was depressed not to start.
UNTIL TODAY! I am, however, in cheater mode. That is, I do not have a treadmill, and it is icing/snowing outside, so I listened to the app and followed the interval training on the elliptical. I know it's not the same, but regardless, I have not sweated like that is years. Never mind, it's been a while since I sustained a 30 minute cardio. (I was stuck in the 20 minute workout mode for too long!)
So here I am, doing what I can with what I got. The weather will break, and I will get outside. I just don't know if I'll have to start back at week one with the C25K program.
