Advice Required - Can Anyone Help?
A few years ago I started modelling after the birth of my daughter. It was an amazing confidence boost and I enjoyed every second of it, especially having opportunities to do things I never would've done otherwise! After a while I decided it should be my job and for another 6 months or so it was still enjoyable. Then it got depressing and stressful, people talk down to you and my issues with my appearance became even more exaggerated.
Almost half a year on, now I'm healthy and happy it's something I definitely miss and I'm considering going back to it. I'd love to hear your opinions and if you'd like to see any of my stuff please look at http://purpleport.com/portfolio/aurelieanais (some images are NSFW although you can only turn on 18+ images by selecting the option on the top right hand cog. if you don't wish to see NSFW images you don't have to worry, they won't be displayed unless you chose to put them on)
Do you think I was any good and do you think any good would come of going back to it all? I'm far too undecided to make the decision myself!

So undecided that you'd let complete strangers online make that decision for you...?

No, no-one can make my decisions for me
Merely that some opinions from different people would help and be useful - I don't often make decisions without arguing both sides of the point first0 -
So, let me get this straight. A few years ago is when you started modeling and you are 21 now but have photos risqué enough that others must be 18+ to view them?0

I doubt random strangers would be able to give you an opinion with which you could trust your future. If you truly want to model again - then go do it. I'm pretty sure that if you are good (I didn't look at your pictures) then you will get jobs. You are also the only one that knows what happens inside your head when you model. You can argue both sides without feedback from a fitness website. Good luck in your decision.0 -
if you want to get back into modeling, then do it.0

.
If it's something that has caused you body image issues and that is a major influence in your happiness then I'd say don't do it. However if it's something you can do and take lightly..and just understand it's the business and don't take it personal and keep yourself grounded...then give it a shot and see what happens. If you start to feel stressed again, leave..and know to never return. At least then you won't have the "what ifs"0 -

Yep, I began when I was 19 and stopped last year after my 21st birthday. I'm struggling to understand why this is an issue for you?
And @_gypsyrunner_ - I think you're right I do know what happens inside one's head and it was never pleasant. probably best left in the past! I always have the memories.0 -

Not an issue at all in my opinion, as you stated one would need to turn on that option to view them and two one would actually need to go to the website to turn that option on. I've done neither so I don't have an issue. They're not shoved in my face. It was a question and I wanted clarification on the timeline of these photos.0 -
I think you Fe just plugging yourself with this one0

I think I should add that the fact that you immediately jumped to the defensive and presumed that I had an issue with your photos (nothing negative was said to you, just simple questions were being asked) is evidence enough that you may still be very sensitive to the opinions of others and maybe the modeling world isn't the place for you?0

Personally, I feel you are going to do exactly what you are exactly wanting to do... and no ones opinion on here or anywhere is going to change it...0

Another piece of advice (for what it's worth). This site, while usually very safe, has a lot of creepers and because it's free - anyone & everyone now has unlimited access to your pictures. I didn't view them, but if there are photos that are filtered, do you really want that out there? You just joined this site. I predict a lot of attention that you may not want.0

If you want to model then model. I don't see why anyone would need the advice or opinions of random strangers online to help them make a decision for themselves.0

Do you know exactly what it is that you're missing? You mention the confidence boost at first, but then it got stressful and depressing. Why do you think it would provoke different feelings in you this time? The industry hasn't radically changed as far as I know. Have you changed? Are you ready to be judged again?
I once had the pleasure of meeting a photographer, who offered unsolicited advice in a department store; he knew the girl I was shopping with, she worked as a model with him and he kindly told me I was fat - which I wasn't, just a normal weight. If that's how they talk to strangers, who have shown no interest in modelling, I can only imagine what it's like for a model being openly critiqued. Do you feel like hearing comments like that? It sounds to me that you perhaps found that part of the work unpleasant? Is it important to you to get feedback about your appearance from strangers? Or is there something else you could do that has more to do with who you are as a person?0
