I now know my TDEE and my BMR, but what do they mean?

I am not a huge fan of exercise, and get plenty of movement in the day at school, and at the house, along with occasional walks outside. I used a reliable website to calculate my TDEE and BMR (even though i'm not sure what they mean). My BMR is 1668, and my TDEE is 2294. If I wanted to lose a pound a week, what would I need to do? What do these numbers mean? How do I use them to help with my weightloss/fat loss? Thank you! Positive responses please!

bmr = basal metabolic rate - the number of calories required to maintain your weight if you lay in bed 24/7
tdee = total daily energy expenditure - the number of calories required to maintain your weight with all your daily activity factored in, so your real maintenance basically
to lose 1 lb a week eat 500 cals less than your tdee each day, because 1 lb of fat = 3500 calories, 3500/7 = 500 deficit per day0 -
BMR is basically how many calories your body utilizes in a day for basic operation (not taking into account ANY physical activity). Your TDEE is how much energy you are expending during the day. This includes your BMR (just "existing" calories) and your additional daily activity (sedentary, active, etc...) Lot of people use a sedentary setting if they have a desk job. Regardless if you have a sedentary life with no exercise or a very active job and exercise multiple times a week--your TDEE will always be higher than your BMR. If you are currently getting little to no exercise, i would definitely choose the sedentary setting.
Generally speaking, to lose one pound per week you should eat 500 calories below your TDEE each day. However, if you happen to have a low TDEE and a 500 calorie deficit brings you below 1200--that may be too low of a restriction.0 -

Your BMR is your basal metabolic rate, the number of calories your body burns everyday just by doin' its thang. That means that you would burn those calories no matter what you do; if you sit on the couch all day, not moving, and binge watching Breaking Bad, you'll burn 1668 calories and you might end up with some bed sores.
Your TDEE is your total daily exercise expenditure, which takes your activity level into account when calculating calorie burns. If you are active the same amount every day, you can do a deficit of TDEE -20% and lose about a pound a week. That's approximately 1850 calories you can consume and still lose weight.0 -
