Weight loss can be daunting

Hi to all you newbies who have just joined MFP.
Weight loss can be daunting especially if you have alot to lose. I started off with 78lb to lose and I was wondering how the hell I was going to do it. It was like standing at the foot of a mountain trying to see the summit.
So I made it a little less daunting and easier on myself by settling myself mini goals:
First I divided my weight loss into 4 to get a quaterly goal. (For me every 19.5lb I lose I reach my goal).
Then I added a stone goal. So every 14lb I have also eached a goal.
I then worked out when I reach a percentage goal (i.e. 10% lost - 20% lost etc etc) http://www.fitwatch.com/qkcalc/calculate-weight-loss-percentage.html
I also have a goal that changes my BMI for Obese to Overweight and Overweight to Healthy.
Now my losses dont seem so daunting. 5lb here, 3lb there, 1lb until the next one. They are now all obtainable goals.
I hope that this is explained ok and not too confusing. I am better explaining things to people verbally or showing them rather than typing it out.

These are great tips, and I think I'll break my 60lbs into achievable goals like this right now Because, uh, 60lbs seems impossible right now.0
