Very high metabolism

Hi!

Please, if you can, some advice for a friend of mine.

She is VERY thin. So thin that many people think she is anorexic, but she is not. I personally see how much she eat, she enjoy food and never throws up.
She has not thyroid problems, she checked.
She was always thin but now she lost some additional weight and also muscle mass, and she is worried.

We checked with MFP a typical day of her, she eat up to 3500 cals (!) with a lot of fats, a bit of carbs, and very few proteins.

I think that she has a very high metabolism, her body temperature is usually higher than the average, it's like she has always fever, so that may be the reason as to way she burns -evidently- so much.

Anyway... should she try to eat even more? I suggested her, at least, to try increase proteins, since her muscles are suffering too much.

Ah, she has also problems with sugars, she should avoid sweets and similar, so she cannot just have cakes and so on to eat more calories.

Any more advice?

Thank you in advance :)

She is eating 3500 calories and losing weight???

    She is VERY thin

Its like she always has a fever???

I think she needs to get to the doctors, get a blood test & her thyroid glands checked - First things first!!!

Ah, she doesn't exercise, she just walk and such (we estimated a bit more of an hour of walk every day), in her work she is on her feet all the day but she doesn't have to lift heavy weights or similar.

She is not very tall, but not short.

What you describe is not possible. She either has a medical problem, or exercises way more than she thinks, or eats less than she thinks.

She was always thin, very thin, since she was a baby. The same for her high temperature. She is kind of a whole degree more than the average.
She checked the thyroid and it's ok.

Yes, I think that also... but she seemed very precise when we had a look at her typical day.

I suggested her to register her food here at least for a week or two, and to get her calorie burn with a step tracker, for example (but, if she really has a very high metabolism, then the tracker will underestimate her burn)

I don't understand what you want us to say. Should she eat more? Why? Is she unintentionally losing weight? Does she want to gain weight and/or muscle? Recomp her body?

Maybe she should come ask her questions so she can address things more directly.

She is not using MFP; I love her and I'm concerned for her, since she doesn't want to lose weight, on the contrary she would like to gain some back. I rely on MFP because I know it. She don't, and won't.
I wondered if someone here, given the enormous amount of different experiences, could give any advice. Yes, like... eat more, simply. Or up proteins. Or, i don't know, "there is a tracker that can check also how high your metabolism is". I don't know.
    I'm not expecting anything. :)

I would suggest things that are high in calories and protein but not too filling. Like fatty meats. Fatty bacon. Peanut butter. Add cream to milk used in cereal. Have full fat yogurt.

Proteins can be too filling. That's why I suggest the above.
