so, for weigh in today i'm up .8 of a pound. i was expecting that, so i'm not terribly bummed - that's actually much better than was i was expecting! i don't mind telling people, including mfp and my husband and friends, etc. i'm not in denial, or trying to hide it.
but...i *really* don't want to plug it into my check-in chart! there's just something about seeing that little line move up that discourages me so much. i would rather get a bullhorn and parade in the streets, exclaiming, 'i, stacy, have gained eight-tenths of a pound over the holidays!'
should i suck it up and put in the number? is this a kind of bad habit forming? will this have a negative impact on my accountability, or does it matter at all? anyone else feel this way about their little charts and graphs?

put it in. log everything. BE ACCOUNTABLE!
It isnt that big of a gain and you can lose it again.0 -
I log every loss and every gain.0

I waited until my normal log-in day, then logged my weight (which included some holiday gain). It's part of being accountable and facing the facts. By not logging it, you're saying that holiday gain doesn't count - but it does! Think of it this way - at least when you log it, it means when you lose it you'll get the status message notifying all your MFP pals that you've lost it! Otherwise it'll seem like you've just been stagnant for awhile when really you've been working your butt off to lose that holiday weight.0

Only you can really answer these questions...I personally enter my weight when it changes, up or down, as a way to track my body to see what it's doing and how certain things I'm doing are affecting it. I can look back and say wow, these two weeks that I ate the extra serving of carbs for breakfast really slowed down my progress, etc.I don't look at it as a failure or success, just part of my journey.0

How often do you weigh in? I've gotten into the habit of stepping on the scale every day, but I only log my Monday weight because that's my official weigh in day.0

I weigh in once a week. I log the change no matter if it's up or down.
It keeps you accountable for your actions.0 -
okay, okay, okay! i'm logging it! thanks for the tough love!0

just think how much more weight it will look like you lost when it goes down that .08 lbs.0
