counting marinades?

I have kind of a silly question - we have started using a lot of marinades in the house to add flavor, and honestly, mostly to keep some of our meat from getting too dry. My question is this: How do you guys count it in recipes? At first, I was counting everything that went in, but then I realized that although some certainly does absorb into the meat, for the most part, a really good portion goes unused when we take the meat out (we haven't really gotten much into turning things into sauces).

What do you guys do? I can't seem to figure it out, and I'm tracking a lot of really lean pork roasts as very high in calories (because I've divided the whole of the marinade in a per serving basis.)

i count everything i put in, but if you think that's really overestimating it one option would be to weight the meat before you marinade
then again once you take it ou (but while it's still raw)
another option would be to weigh the marinade before you add the meat and also after you take it out to work out how much has stayed on the meat

If the marinade is complicated and has a lot of ingredients that I know add calories I make a new recipe. It just seems easier that way to me.

I agree - we've actually just made stuff up from time to time, and I add things (or don't) when I see the numbers creep up. I'm not a fan of bottled marinades, but the BF loves them, so we try to do both.

Honestly? I thought I would just be told to suck it up and count it all, or made fun of for not knowing. The answer alone makes me smile. :)

If there are bottled flavors that we enjoy I try to find a healthier alternative. Usually trying to make it myself. It's fun and gives me some experience and what not.
