Not enough calories? Please help

Hello guys!

I'm new here and I have a question, I'm really obsessing about. I've been dieting for the past 7 weeks now and have lost 12 pounds. I did no exercise but ate very well. Now the problem is, I was only eating about 950 calories a day and I know that's not enough..

I'm worrying now though because I upped them for the first time this week by 125. So now I'm at 1075 a day and I plan on upping them to 1200 next week to be more healthy. I'm scared I will gain weight by doing this? Or is this the way to go?

I plan on running three times a week but not just yet cause I have a messed up foot..

You might gain some weight, but if you do it's going to be water weight as your body adjusts and it will be temporary. If that's going to bother you, it might be a good idea to stay off the scale for a few weeks while your body gets used to the changes.

Set your MFP goal to lose half a pound a week.

When you start exercising, log that and eat half of those calories too.

Log/weigh/measure all of your food, use a food scale. (make sure you are really eating what you say you are eating, if you do not have a food scale then you are most likely eating more than you think).

With 9 pounds to go your weekly weight loss goal should be 1/2 pound a week. 1200 is likely still not enough calories.....younger people need more than us old folks.

When you do add exercise....you will want more calories still.

Find your TDEE .....this is maintenance. If you will gain weight on 1200 calories then you are not logging correctly or you have medical issues. I can't even gain on 1200 and I'm over 50 (5'5").

Eat 250 calories less for 1/2 pound a week.
