Just a quick question for everyone, I've just started this website, but I want to know how many times a week are you exercising and for how long? I'm trying to do at least 45- an hour, maybe a little more about 5 days a week. Is that enough??

That is a really good start for having just begun this website Jess! When I started I was lucky to get 20 minutes 3 times a week! I exercise 6 days a week and alternate workouts every other day. Kickboxing and pilates one day, running and swimming the next. Weights and pilates the third day, elliptical the next. Giving my muscles time to relax but still burning calories! I work out for about an hour to two hours depending on how much I want to put in or if I'm going to have fun the next day! )

I aim for 5 days a week/30-60 min a day. That seems to work for me.0

I'm doing 40 min. a day 5 times a week, now, but I started out just 20 - 30min. 45-60min. might be a little too much to start out with. Not because you can't do it. It's just a higher probability you'll burnout quicker and get bored w/it sooner. Good luck!0

I just started but I am doing a "resolution" workout on Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum on the Wii. Its about a 40 minute, pretty high intensity workout 4 days a week.
my main goal is to get my diet on track....
Don't kill youself exercising, and make it something you enjoy to do like biking, swimming, walking, jogging. the point is to get active!0 -
Doing around an hour three of the workdays per week, and then a longer cardio workout on Saturdays, sometimes greater than 3-4 hours. Cycling is my passion. Sundays are the key day for me. I need to do more that day, but something always comes up. Summer cannot get here soon enough!0

keep it simple to start, don't over extend yourself because you will just burn out. The goal is to want to do the excercise, not feeling you are being forced to do it. Change it up. I go for 3-4 days of cardio (running, elliptical) for about 30-45 minutes. Then I do 3 days of weight training for about half hour and throw in 15 minutes of cardio as a warm up to the weight training session. Try to stick to a schedule and it will become habit forming after a while. Good luck. Cheers!0

I workout 6 days a week but that's because I hate only having 1200 calories. When I get a good workout in I get to eat more! That's my motivation (besides getting more fit, I guess that's part of it, too).0

Thanks everyone! I love doing things outside, just here in DE it's been too cold to do much of anything!!! This is a great website, so glad my dad introduced me to it! :happy:0

Jess you want to start off slow and not to fast, start with three times a week at about thirty mins a day and then work your way up.You don't want your body to get at a plato because it will get use to the routine.0

When I first started, I took classes at the gym 3x's a week for 60 minutes each class. Now, I'm trying to go the gym 5x's a week (60 minute classes). I also just started training for a 5K, so am doing walk/run intervals for 30 minutes 3 or 4x's a week. I bring my dogs with me, to get them a workout too0
