My gold '96 Saturn SW2 is still on the road and named "Goldie" (I know you're stumped where the name came from).

Lately, she's the old gold mare as in the song "The old grey mare she ain't what she used to be, ain't what she used to be...."

My first car was a gold '96 Saturn! SL2, though. And he too is still running...he's now the first car for another young adult.

    My old cars:
    '96 Saturn = Tucker
    '07 Cobalt = Biscuit
'05 Tahoe = Gus the Gas Guzzler

    Current cars:
'13 Kia Optima = Sexy Texy (license plate helped me on that one)
    '14 FJ Cruiser = Effie

Me? No. The closest I've ever come is taking the "Exploder" nickname my military units gave to their Explorers (apparently, some of the earlier model years had a habit of catching fire) and applied it to mine. But I only rarely used it. I never could come up with anything that would seem to fit, and I even went through some more oddball names like they might use on WWII planes.

My parents named some of their cars. We had a Volvo 740 named "Yohann", an MG named "Beatrice", and a Mercury Sable called "Sammy". A second Volvo 740, an 850, a Saturn, and a Mercedes that came after those three all remained nameless. Only my dad's new Crossfire got any form of a nickname- a rarely used moniker of "Priestmobile" which came from the fact he bought it shortly after graduating from seminary.

My brother, however, names his cars. Right now, he has a Corvette he calls "Blitz". He also has a trailblazer which he calls "Battering". Seriously, that's it. It's supposed to be a reference to "Battering Ram" which makes no sense becuse it's not like he drives it into things and is also why it makes me die a little inside when he says things like "I'm driving Battering...." or "I took Battering to...". The logic center in my brain just can't process that name. He babies that truck almost as much as he does his 'vette.
