Ab roller Question - Please help

Hi ,

I've been thinking of buying a ab roller 'Below'

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9237135.htm

Will this help burn a lot of calories as well as fat?

Just curious if anyones had any success.

Fat loss is the result of calorie deficit, not endless crunches.

You would be better off putting the money towards some free weights and starting a full body strength training programme.

    Uh... ok.

If you're talking about burning fat in your abs... you can't spot reduce. The only thing an ab-roller will do is strengthen your core, but over-all exercise will burn fat bro. ANY exercise will have the desired result.

I have weights i wanted to incorporate crunches into the work out.

    I run
    I lift

I just struggle to do sit ups and i thought this machine could improve my core so i could start doing them solo. I already eat at a defict and loose weight on a weekly basis i'm just trying to strengthen my core.

I'm not trying to spot reduce why is everyone saying that? I never specifically said burn fat from my stomach i said 'Burn fat' in general.

Like anything - you have to stick with it. If I lived closer, I would GIVE you mine. I see more results from regular sit up than using the Ab roller. Kindness to you, Kimberli

Crunches and situps are pretty weak in core development and strength. They also don't burn much cals or fat.

    Building a stronger core:

    Squat and deadlift
Isometric exercises (planks, L-sits and all there variations)
    Knees to chest
    Toes to bar
    Planche
    Front lever
    Etc.....

Yeh we have one, doesn't get used ...ever! If you google ab workouts you will find loads that you can do that will strengthen your core. I do insanity right now and for abs I do p90x ab ripper... It really gives a good workout and is really hard.

    You can find it here:

Try it out, trust me you will feel it the next day! :-D

    Good rule of thumb...

If it's advertised on a TV infomercial, it's probably not the best option out there.

Like all rules of thumb, it may not be 100% true, but it is more often than not.
