Don't Take The Girl
So true! I forgot about this one, but it totally breaks me down!!
I have to change the channel every time I hear it! I am like OMG I will cry if I let it continue!0 -
My son sang "Fix You" by Cold Play for his Senior Song in Show Choir. Half the crowd was in tears and he got a standing ovation by the end. I still tear up every time I hear it just for reminding me of that day.
Oh man I forgot about Coldplay. I am not even a real fan of theirs but several of their songs give me chills or that teary feeling, usually for something that happened while it was playing.0 -
Metalingus - Alter Bridge
Don't judge!0 -
The video to Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt by NIN.
this song makes me cry. Also I will Follow You Into the Dark - Death Cab For Cutie0 -

The Christmas shoe song. Don't know the name or the artist but its about a boy that is trying to buy a pair of shoes... UNCONTROLLABLE sobbing every time
"The Christmas Shoes" by Newsong.
That's my pick too...always makes me cry...I can't even think about it or explain the meaning to someone without getting choked up.0 -

And of course my own Daddy-Daughter Dance, Daddy's Hands by Holly Dunn0 -
humpty dumpty- every time he falls I die a bit inside.0

Drink a Beer by Luke Bryan and Strawberry Wine by Deana Carter remind me of my aunt that passed away a few years ago. She stepped in when my mom left so I was very close to her.
Reflections of My Life by Marmalade reminds me of my dad. Because I know when his time comes that he wants that song played at his funeral.
Must Be Nice by Lyfe Jennings makes me cry happy tears. Cause my boyfriend is a very amazing man and we were both put thru the ringer in our divorces. So it's nice to have finally found someone that understands where I'm coming from.
When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars reminds me of my ex husband. He had his personal demons and those demons destroyed us. And now he wishes he had done those things to fix our marriage before I completely walked away.0 -

Unchained Melody
Righteous Brothers - Bobby Hatfield's amazing voice kills me every time - you should listen to it0 -
I am a bit of a sap and lots of songs make me cry. Currently. George Strait's "I Got a Car" when it goes
"One Sunday morning, rain pouring down
She said, I think it's time but all the lines are out
And her eyes teared up and she said, what are we gonna do now?
And I said, well I got a car, she said, there's something
You think it'll start, I said, it's already running
Got your things in the back and I'm ready when you are
She said, are you sure it'll get us where we're goin'?
I said, if there's one thing I know girl, it's gotten us this far"
When I was pregnant with my son it was "Baby" by Blake Shelton. I blame hormones for that.
What about you?
THIS^^. The only reason my grandmother accepted a date with my grandfather was because he had a car, I cry like a baby everytime I hear the song, I miss them so much.
The Baby was when I was pregnant with MY Baby! "The whole way I drove 80, so she could see her baby" - EVERY.TIME!0 -
I have a couple that immediately come to mind.
Travelin Soldier by Dixie Chicks and Just a Dream by Carrie Underwood.
I have never known anyone who went to war but these songs get me every time. So sad.0 -
Its So Hard to Say Goodbye To Yesterday - Boyz II Men version0
-
Two from Harry Chapin get me with some regularity:
A Better Place to Be
and
Mr. Tanner
The former gets me right around the "six word letter;" the latter around the spoken-word review of Mr. Tanner's performance.0 -
There are several, but the most recent is Rescue by Yuna.
"She thinks she's all alone and all her hopes are gone
And so I wrote this song so she can move along
When things were bad, she was in despair
When things were bad and you were never there
When things were bad she came up for air
She said a little prayer, she found herself
Yeah, she's got light in her face
She don't need no rescuing, she's okay
Yeah, she's got life in her veins
She don't need no rescuing, she's okay
No SOS needed, no rescuing, she's fine out there
No SOS needed, no rescuing, she's fine out there
Yeah, she's got life in her veins
She don't need no rescuing, she's okay
She looks into the sky and all her tears are dry
She kiss her fears goodbye, she's gonna be alright."0 -
The Rose - accapella....was the song sung at my son's graveside service. Throw in "The Prayer" (sung by anyone OTHER than Celine Dion (blech!) and I am a goner!0

whole heartedly agree.... also now "Let Her go" by Passenger, because it makes me think of my aunt who passed away about a year and a half ago.0 -
The video to Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt by NIN.
Definitely.
And also, for me, Landslide by Fleetwood Mac (and the Smashing Pumpkins version is a killer, too).0 -
NOT much can make me cry BUT youtube Crystal Shawanda "You can let go (daddy)..." just thinking about this song chokes me... and when I actually play it... lets just say.. I need to be alone for a while... is that too sappy???0

I very unexpectedly lost my father at the end of January. One of my childhood friends sang The Beatles song "In My Life" at the funeral. I can't even think of the words in my mind now or I lose it.0

Skin (Sara Beth) by Rascal Flatts0

I don't really cry during songs but ones that give me goosebumps are
"I Dreamed a Dream"- anyone who sings it well really but especially Anne Hathaway, Susan Boyle, Mandy Pantinkin, and Patti LuPone
"Hurt"- the Johnny Cash cover
"Vincent"- either Don McLean's or Josh Groban's0 -
Say something0

I don't live Avril Lavigne but when my dad passed away Slipped Away came out and now every time I hear it I cry. My father was really sick and moved a few provinces away to live with my sister who could take care of him. I was suppose to fly out a month before he died.
I didn't get around to kiss you
Goodbye on the hand
I wish that I could see you again
I know that I can't
And another song that strangely makes me cry is "Live Your Life" by T.I. Feat Rihanna. My grandmother was living with us with a DNR. The morning that she passed her last words to me was "No matter what happens to me, you live your life." And of course a few days later was the first time I heard that song play on the radio.0
