I have to lose 66 pounds. I have done some sustainable diets such as Weight Watchers, but I have tried my fair share of ridiculous diets too. I think some of my problem is that I expect immediate results, I have never been very good at "slow & steady" but know if I had taken that attitude & stuck to it I would have reached goal weight a hundred times over!

I haven't been doing a lot in the way of exercise, I used to go to the gym a bit & was pretty fit even when overweight, but now I am more overweight and not exercising & I have never been so unfit in my life! And I know I am unhealthy, not just fitness wise, but feeling like I am not healthy in other ways now too :(

Thank you so much everybody for your amazing support & advice - it is really so very much appreciated. Sorry for all the weird comments from me above, I was posting replies on individual comments on the thread but apparently they don't post under each persons comments and just end up all down the bottom of the thread LOL!

I am so pleased I have finally taken the time to write on this forum, I've read other people's stuff and lurked around but a lot of what you have said has really hit home - I think I need to definitely stop thinking "diet" and start thinking "does this fuel my body". Generally when I eat garbage it seems like a good idea at the time but when you've eaten it you just think "blah!" and it totally wasn't worth it.

I will be sure to be more involved on here as you've really helped me a lot!
