I know it sounds like a scam guys, that's why i'm asking if it actually helped any members on here.
I'm looking for people who have actually given this product a try to come in here and comment.
Like hello if you read my comment above I have bought two month worth two bottles I spend New Zealand dollars $120 I done it for 2 month nothing happened I didn't lose jack but if u wana spend money then good luck0 -
damn do i really sound that stupid? =(
No, you don't sound stupid. But, here is how it probably works:
"You should really try these African Mango Bush pills."
"What about the other stuff you guys are selling?"
"Well, we have to carry that stuff. But, these pills actually work."
I.E., we make more money pushing this new stuff than the other things we have that do nothing as well.
You want to take a daily, calcium and fish oil? Go for it. But, a pill that magically makes your body do crazy weight loss? Sounds crazy, right? It is. Save your cash.
Again, you aren't stupid or crazy. You just got hit by someone trying to sell you something when you were vulnerable. Disregard it.0 -
Can some please tell me how I can post a picture up so I CAN sHOW HER THE BOtTLES CAN REALLY WE gIVING ADIVCE BUT ThEN SHE STILlING going about if any one has tired it0

sounds like a pile of African Mango Bull****.
lmfao !I thought this was going to be a joke thread...
damn do i really sound that stupid? =(
I wasn't implying that you were stupid. A lot of threads like this pop up, usually asking about the validity of some "magic" ingredient to aid weight loss. I hadn't heard of African Mango Bush pills and assumed someone had made it up to poke fun at the green coffee bean/raspberry ketones phenomena.
When I was younger I was game for fat burners and other pills that I thought would speed up my weight loss. Like you said, we all want to get there as fast a possible. I realize now that pills are stupid.
I hope you do it the healthy way, too. You will reach your goal, put solid effort into it and enjoy the accomplishment of doing it on your own - no magic required
Upon return a few weeks later a dr. told me they found amphetamines in my system and why hadn't I been honest about being a "recreational" user. WTF!?!? I was floored AND offended. After popping in and out of the office a few times and asking me some pointed but confusing questions he concluded that my cold and my desire for weight loss had collided in the form of cold medicines combined with diet pills showing up as drugs in my system and were responsible for that weird "road trip". Literally I was tripping!
I tell you this here out loud because I want everyone to be wary of everything wacky, too good to be true, that makes you feel funny, that does the impossible, that someone has to pressure or trick you into, that is too faddish, or that just makes your gut instincts pop up. It took my friend months to convince me to use these and me YEARS to convince her NOT too after my trip. She was hot, I was fat, how could I know better? Well I'm the one who is now happy married with kids and a normal life. I don't even know where she is now only that last time I checked she was drinking too much with a new relationship and spending time in hot tubs with her new BF his EX GF and his father in law. Weirdo soup if you ask me. Don't drink the kool aid!:noway:0 -

I already lost 5 pounds in one week without *magic pills* all i did was go to the gym everyday for 2 hours and eat veggies and fruits. im just scared of the point where i will stop losing n be at a standstill0 -
I mean i guess the manager is trying to push them because they sell them at the gym.
**slaps forehead***
No, literally, I read this line and slapped my forehead. Am I the only one?
Save your money. Look away from the gym products for sale. Back away from the counter. Put your money back into that place where you keep your money. You do not need to take pills to lose weight. It will not be permanent, even if by some miracle those pills were legit.
Do you want to lose weight quickly or permanently?
both dammit! lol
I hear you and I feel your pain. But let's take a trip into the future: December 31, 2013. You have logged into MFP daily. You are tracking what you eat and exercising some and getting motivation from friends real and virtual. And you've lost 1 lb per week, just 1 lb per week by doing all those things you know you are supposed to do; not by starving yourself, or buying bogus pills or falling for some gimmick from someone trying to sell you something.
And guess what? At the end of this year, just by doing what I described you could be 50 lbs lighter. Maybe it's not quick and it's certainly not as exciting as the prospect of miracle weight loss with African bush whatchamacallits, but if you look at the success stories on this site and the people who are maintaining their weight, most did it by tracking what they eat and exercising some. And you keep seeing that story over and over again because it works.
ok i will try. to my gyms credit they did give me this site0 -

I am no expert but increasing my exercise from basically nothing except housework to an hour a day walk ( early morning suited me) sometimes longer on the weekends, eating healthy stuff and decreasing fat without depriving myself- hey I still have anything I want in moderation. Lost 20 Kgs that is 44lbs. I saw something about this mango stuff on facebook they made unbelievable claims about what you would lose in a month. Well save your $100 and spend it on good food. Just cahnage your lifestyle a little and you will get there on your own. I know because It IS possible. Good Luck.0

+1 more to the "it's a scam" crowd.
You need to learn to be patient and to educate yourself about nutrition and fitness. Working out for 2 hours a day at the gym is overkill. Slow down. Eat well. Be consistent in your daily intake and stick to a fitness plan. Be patient. Don't make things harder than they already are.0 -

If you're doing it and can do it every single day forever, then it's fine, but a lot of people starting out get really into workouts for 2-3 hours a day then burn out really fast. 30-60 mins at higher intensity 3-4 times per week is sufficient too and much less demanding on your time. Just something to consider.0 -

Thanks for the advise. i will take it into consideration Whne you say higher intensity you mean more weight and more resistance on things?0 -

Intervals (alternating between fast and slow pace), more resistance, etc. all adds intensity which will give you more bang for the time invested (you burn more in a smaller window of time). It's just a way to cut down on the time you spend in the gym every day but still get a decent burn.0 -
My doctor, after seeing a lab test with an off-the-charts high Leptin level (the enzyme put out by fat cells that maybe increases hunger in obese people) , said to try Irvingia (the originally marketed African Mango name), because he had seen some limited reports that it lowers leptin. Next lab test, the leptin was in the normal range. He said "son of a gun, it worked!" But lowering leptin only translates into a possibility of making it easier to lower calories eaten, not an actual weight loss. I take the stuff daily, but it is not a diet pill.0

PS. As a new user of these boards, I have been a little disturbed at the willingness folks have to jump in with their opinion on a topic, even if they have no specific information on that particular topic, but maybe a lot of experience, information, and opinions about other, not-necessarily related topics.0

@kusterer point taken but in my case i had that horror story that this was reminding me of and so i wanted to share my experience as what is is merely my experience in case it helps someone see things more clearly or be more discerning when choosing their plan especially with things that are new.0 -
I dont care about seeing people i care about my joint paint from my weight gain my knees hurt
fine i'll just buy real mangoes from the supermarket.
michael ventrella (biggest loser usa winner) or whoever runs his official facebook website posted something last year about joint pain and a new tablet they had been trying called hyaluronic acid, i actually did a bit of research before jumping in and buying them but it does seem they are widely used to treat joint pain, stiffness, osteoarthritis etc etc, anyway i bought some and began taking just 1 a day and it pretty much cleared up the pain i was feeling in my knees.( i have been having pain in my knees from the age of 13 after being in a car accident and damaging 1 of my knees 23 years later after putting more pressure on my "good" knee its more damaged than the other one add to that 23 years of being obese you can imagine the strain my knees were under, add to that starting exercising t wasnt good)
i'm not saying they are a wonder drug but they worked for me, perhaps if you researched them you might decide to give them a try or find something suitable for you
ps i have never taken african mango bush pills but have fallen for most of the diet pill scams over the last 20 years, personally i think the reason behind why people have such great results whilst taking them is.........on most bottles they say to be taken in conjunction with a calorie controlled diet/healthy diet plan, when people start taking them they have probably been eating unhealthly for a while so the new "diet pills" along with the diet give them a weight loss, they would have had the same results if they had just done the healthy eating
good luck x0 -
About joint pain: Are you taking omega 3 in some form? I feel so much better when I remember to have my fish oil. My joints hurt less, and my skin feels better. Also, if people have now scared you away from pills all together, just eat fatty fish, seeds and nuts. Not as concentrated, but equally good for your joints!0

OMG if you ever eaten a mango in Africa its like heaven. I'm talking pure mango blissed sunkissed and turned into the most delicious flavor. MMMM I miss the food there.
I miss African mangos too!! They are different than anywhere else in the world!!! I had malaria last year while I was living in Uganda and basically lived on them...Yum....0 -
Anything involving losing weight and the word pill=fail, never ever works, at least, not the legal stuff0

I know right? i mean I'm thankful for the overwhelming amount of responses i got on this subject and for all of the opinions because they were definitely helpful, but i was kind of hoping to see more responses from people who actually tried the product i was talking about. I only got 2.0 -

I loved your story! I mean, im sry that that happened to you but im glad that you shared it with me
Anything helps and is appreciated over here0 -
So the manager at my gym SWARES by them so i am considering taking them to "speed up" my weight loss efforts.
Does anyone take these pill? or have tried them in the past? do they actually work well with diet and exercise? do they suck? are they harmful to your health? I've been researching and am getting wonderful stories but I want the dirt on this product not the hype. Tell me everything you know.
The dirt is that there are no magic pills. Save your money and look for a new gym.0 -

Interesting to read. Thanks for this information. i really feel like my joints hurt because of all of the weight i put on so i will look into this more.
and i can totally believe the stuff you said on the bottom about people dieting along with the pills...that its the diet and not the pills at all.0 -

I used to take these as a child because i hated eating fish and i had horrible acne. They never did much for the acne so i just stopped taking them. maybe i will look into it again though0 -

I could have written this exact same post. After a long course of Prendisone completely jacked my Leptin levels and my cholesterol (and my body in general -- let's be honest, that stuff is a nightmare and I wouldn't have taken it if there was any other option), my Doctor recommended I try pure Irvingia, without any fillers or additives, for 6 weeks before we retested. It helped. It helped a lot. I don't think it did anything for my weight at all, that was all diet and exercise, but it did help get my bloodwork back to a more comfortable level.
*EDIT: Whoops Totally didn't check to see how old this was. Now I feel foolish.0
