Help

I started excercisibg and eating better a couple of months ago and I have lost 31lbs. I have been riding a recumbent bike for an hour or hour and a half everyday and have developed a problem that I have not been able to find any help with. It is pretty embarassing so I have resorted to looking for help on the internet. I started out with a small sore spot at the top of my bottom in the crack. It has now gotten much larger, is very sore and itches like crazy. Is there anyone on here that has experienced this and if so how did you get rid of it? Thanks

You probably are getting it from your bike seat or from sweat? rash? Wear different clothing, also maybe get a different bike seat?

Perhaps see your doctor. It could be a fungal or microbial infection requiring treatment. Are you wearing undies or yoga pants that have something that may be rubbing in there during your workout? Perhaps reevaluate your choice of clothing.

it's chafing. It's very common with runners. Try getting Body Glide at any sports store or Internet or using bag balm before your workout. While you're healing, you might try an upright bike or treadmill to get you off the ouchy area. Hope that helps.

P.S. Good for you on the HUGE weight loss.

I do feel it was caused by the type of shorts i have been wearing while I was riding and right now I am taking a break to give this some time to get better. I am going to get a good pair of padded cycling shorts before starting back but i want to get this cleared up as soon as possible because it is uncomfortable and i want to get back to riding as soon as possible. Thanks for the suggestions.
