Pregnant women!

I'm currently pregnant with my third child. I'll be 25 weeks tomorrow. I'll start off by saying that I was overweight before I got pregnant. 227 lbs. Currently I'm 224 lbs. Am I the only pregnant woman who gets irritated when people tell them "Oh you're pregnant, you can eat whatever you want." I feel like that's all anyone has been saying to me lately like pregnancy is some big excuse for a fatty fest. All of the women who are saying this to me are moms too, and they're all miserable with their post partum bodies! They all gained a LOT more than the recommended 25-35 lbs. My recommended weight gain is 15 lbs. I just don't get why these people think you burn an extra 5000 calories a day being pregnant!

I can see how that can be frustrating! I think the opposite reaction is equally frustrating, IE people saying "careful, you're not really eating for two ya know..." It might be the hormones talking, but I don't think it's anyone's business but mine and my medical care providers'.

I'm pretty impressed that you're staying on track with your care provider's recommendations (from what I understand of your post). I have gained more than I'm supposed to, and I know how hard it is to avoid as I've really tried. So kudos on that. It sounds like you've got this.

Just ignore people. I was down to 208 when I found out I was pregnant with baby #2 in February 2014 (now 20 weeks). I'm still trying to watch what I eat but I have changed my settings to maintaining in MFP. Do what you feel is right, not what others tell you. I've only gained 6 lbs this pregnancy, so far, and only gained 17 with baby #1.

    Don't stress it.
