New member saying hi

Hello all.

I started losing weight in October last year. It's coming off very slowly but it is coming off! I started at 242lbs (I'm 5' 6" and 48 on Friday!) and on Monday 28th April I had lost 18lbs. That was the day I decided to start walking - and the day I discovered MFP. On 19th May I had lost another 3lbs, taking me to 21lbs off. I don't weigh often as I don't own any scales so I weigh at our local leisure centre.

My motivation is the fact that one of my closest friends is getting married next May. I would like to lose at least another 3 stone by then if I can.

I am now walking a couple of times a week, from anywhere between 3 miles and 6 miles. Between October and April I was doing the 5:2 diet [ETA: I don't know if I'm allowed to mention that - apologies if not] and not counting calories or changing my eating habits on the '5' days that I wasn't fasting, but since registering on here I've been logging everything I eat, which is a real eye opener and has changed my eating habits already!

I've got a long way to go but I am determined to do it!
