OK I know this maybe too much TMI but I have not had my period for a year. Before this it wouldn't stop so I went in for DNC a few months before that it was fine, one dr told me it was because I put on weight well here I am today 67 pounds lighter and still nothing any suggests

I'd say it's time to visit a doctor again. Ask for blood work.

It can take some time for your body to get back to normal. How long has it been since you started losing weight ? If its been ages go back to doc !

I hope you don't mind me responding as I am a man but there are multiple causes of secondary amenorrhea (loss of the menstrual cycle) so I don't think you'll get to the heart of the matter here.

As advised above see your doctor once more.

A dilation and curettage procedure could do that to you. My periods were heavy and I got anemia because of that, so I took care the anemia but the Dr. said that if my periods continue to be heavy and the anemia comes back that I would have to do D&C, and that would stop my period for months to avoid the heavy bleeding. I would talk to the O.B. Gyn that performed the D&C. Good luck

I watched something before and it took a girl almost a year after loosing weight and she still need hormone tablets to fix the damage. It might be just too soon for you or you might be unlucky doctor is best person to speak too

You should always ask your doctor. Even sometimes speaking with a nurse in the office can help. But I highly doubt anyone on these boards is a M.D. You don't want to get the wrong information, because it might end up doing more damage.

    Good Luck.

You may be pregnant. I don't test positive on the home tests until about 3 months in. Just has to do with your hormone levels. Trust me I was testing like every few days toward the end with my first. I was just so excited. Nothing to be worried about though, baby girl was born healthy with no issues/concerns.

Ask for blood work to test your thyroid too. I had very irregular periods and have hypothyroidism. It affects all your hormones so could have something to do with it?

I noticed my body needed time to adjust to my new weight and start menstruating again. but you should def. go to your doctor and ask them to check if everything is fine down there/with the hormones.

I noticed OP had a doctor's appointment for yesterday (May 30). I would love an update so we know you're okay/find out what the doctor said

    Thanks :flowerforyou:
