Do you eat when you are already full?

Hey!

So today has been a good day so far, but unfortunately I didn't have time for my first meal of the day until half past 4 in the afternoon. So I have basically stuffed my face since then, but I still have almost 150 kcal to eat. I really don't want to eat those last 150 kcal because I'm SO full, but I feel bad about not hitting my macros. (It's already evening where I live and I hate eating shortly before going to bed.)

What do you do if you feel stuffed but "should" eat more according to your goals? Do you eat something or not? Do you compensate for it the next day?

For one day I don't worry about it and consider myself to have the option to eat a bit over the next day (or in the week generally). If it happens routinely I'm planning badly and fix it.

one day and a mere 150 calories is nothing I would really concern myself about too much. 150 calories is well within any kind of margin of error anyway. I've been maintaining for a year plus now and I don't every hit an exact calorie amount...sometimes I'm under, sometimes I'm over, sometimes I'm on and I'm generally within an acceptable range for my macros and it's all worked out just fine. I wouldn't be so hell bent on hitting everything exact all of the time...it really doesn't matter...what matters is that you are overall being consistent long term.

    this
150 isnt a huge amount, if it were 1000 it'd be a little different but even if you dont make up for it later its not going to negatively effect you if it only happens once in a blue moon

    depends.

    if I'm bulking? sure do.

    If I'm cutting no.

goal is to hit calories- hungry or not.

Using hunger/fullness can be a horribly unreliable way to regulate your system.

Yeah I do in general because eventually it starts catching up with me and I start getting lethargic/lazy. I'll ususally eat a yogurt before going to bed if I'm that close.

It depends on how under I am. If its less than 200 then no I don't eat if I'm not hungry, if its more yes because it means I've filled up on less calorie dense food such as loads of veg and if I don't eat either slow release carbs (Oats/ Granola are my 'go to') or protein (whey shake usually) then I will wake up starving and ready to chew my own arm off LOL
  • Yeah, I do. It doesn't bother me enough to keep me from wanting to get more nutrients. I don't know if it's advisable but it is what I do.

    I wouldn't worry about 150 cals though.

I have no problem having 150 calories worth of ice cream if I'm not hungry. If I'm really full though... nope.
  • Definitely no. I used to years ago, but now I have stomach problems so if I did that I'd be crying in pain/wishing for death so yeah...I can't. It's not really an option for me.
