Just a HI!

I'm new here and really need to lose a few pounds!!!! I eat good food, well balanced with lots of fresh vegetables and fruit. My problem is portion control! Tried weight watchers but did not come off well. At my age ya think I'd learned to control my eating habits...but no!!!! There are some foods like spaghetti, mashed potatoes & gravy, cheese cake that I have no control over and would eat until I drop!!! So I'm very careful when I do have one of those "binge" foods!!! But most times it doesn't work and I have a "pig out" I'm hoping to glean a few ideas from all of you to help or else I guess I'm destined to be a fatty for all times!

    HI!

My advice is to log HONESTLY. If you pig out on any food, log it. ALL of it. After a while, you will find yourself making different choices because you don't want to see all those calories in your log. :)

    Good luck.

Hi there! I can relate! I just suffered though a Monster cookie craving last night!! If I have it around, it will be gone!
My solution is to purchase these "splurge" foods in single servings. Can't eat the entire cheesecake if there is only one slice!! Yes, it costs more, but my health is worth the extra expense! Also, if you know you are going to splurge or eat something "not so healthy" go ahead and log it in your food tracking right away, even before you have eaten it, so that you see those calories already accounted for each time you sign in and log your food. It helps me eat extra-good on the days where I know I am going to be in a tempting situation.
Oh, and if you do pig out, don't use it as an excuse to blow the whole day, and don't beat yourself up over it. Log it, forgive yourself and move on with better food choices.
