Ten reasons WHY you want to lose weight/be healthy!

Thought some people could use some motivation from within and a reminder of what their health and happiness means to them. Please list your 10 reasons why you want to lose weight or maintain your healthy lifestyle, depending where your journey is taking you!
1. To look great for myself and be happy looking in the mirror at my achievements!
2. To fit into cute and fashionable clothing without feeling as self conscious.
3. To look great at special occasions and my wedding one day.
4. To not be embarrassed by photos and untag myself on facebook.
5. To have more energy and endurance.
6. To be able to run without getting winded and having to stop after a minute.
7. To make my family proud.
8. To get more out of life than sitting around at home.
9. No more thigh chafing!
10. To be able to wear a cute 2 piece swimsuit and feel great!

1. Take up less space, To be and feel smaller and less imposing in general.
2. Have more options in clothing
3. Less self-conscience and more confident and comfortable when naked, half-naked, and during sex
4. The weight on my DL to be not true only because I weigh less, not more, than it claims.
5. More comfortable and confident in photos/video
6. Feel freer to do a countless number of activities

1. To generally be less fat.
2. To generally be healthier.

Why I want to lose weight
1. I want the flabby part of my belly to be like it was before the kids (I know...I'm laughing too)

I could probably write a novel on all the reasons I want to lose weight, but for the sake of time, here's ten:
1. Absolute top reason- to live a long, healthy, and happy life.
2. Like every other girl, I want to get out of the granny style plus sizes and wear cute, attractive clothes.
3. I want to look/feel good in my wedding pictures. I don't want to be embarrassed to show them off.
4. I want to be able to ride roller coasters without the fear of having to do the walk of shame!
5. I'd like to be more adventurous - hiking, parasailing, skiing - all things my body limits me from doing right now.
6. Having children is so important to me, and I want to be able to have a healthy pregnancy.
7. Once I have those healthy babies, I want to be able to run and play with them. I WILL be the fun mom!
8. I want to feel more socially accepted. I don't want to be judged as a lazy slob just because of my weight.
9. I want to decrease all my body aches. I should feel 22, not 52!
10. I want to be as happy with my outer beauty as I am with my inner beauty - both a work in progress.0 -
Great job, guys! I know 10 is hard, but sometimes you have to really dig deep for the last ones to come to your mind. If you don't have 10, that's fine!!! I love what everyone is saying, you guys are awesome. :flowerforyou:0

oh man, don't even get me started on this...
1) build endurance (specifically be able to sign up for 5k and 10k's with confidence)
2) get stronger
3) to be able to look back and see progress and my body getting stronger (running further, faster, easier than ever before)
4) i want to be super bendy and flexy and agile and have good posture and do advanced yoga poses.
5) feel light on my feet
6) develop good habbits now to carry me when i'm older
7) treat my body the way it deserves, it does so much for me, i want to give back
8) (okay now we get to the more self conscious reasons) i feel like my boyfriend deserves a hot *kitten* girlfriend, so i'm gonna deliver
9) to feel confident in any outfit i wear.
10) i just want to be healthy and happy most of all:)0 -
Not necessarily in order of importance.
1. To be at my pre-pregnancy weight (but first goal is post-second-child weight)
2. To fit into the cute clothes i kept from before
3. To be in better shape
4. To be able to buy cute clothes again
5. To set a good example for my kids
6. To be healthier in general
7. To look better in general
8. To get my back and ankles to stop hurting from carrying so much extra weight
9. To hopefully lower my cholesterol
10. To prevent weight-related diseases that have shown up in other people in my family0 -

Hmm great question! At 43 I can say my reasons for wanting to stay fit have changed a little over time.
1) To prevent as many lifestyle-associated illnesses that I possibly can
2) It's part of my retirement plan -- being sick and disabled is expensive! I want to be able to work as long as I want, not forced to retire early because of my health. I don't want to have to spend money in my golden years on a bunch of meds and doctors visits.
3) Fitness has improved my marriage. It's something my husband and I value and share together. It makes our sex life better -- I'm not self conscious about being naked and I have stamina ;-)
4) As someone who had an eating disorder in my teens and 20s', this is as much about my mental health as my physical health. Teamwork between my mind and body = emotional peace for me.
5) My work outs keep me sane. They are my best stress reliever. Having it be a given that I will work out 6 days a week makes me know I can count on having that.
6) I'm more spontaneous and active -- I don't hesitate to throw on a bathing suit to go to the beach because I feel confident. I don't hesitate to agree to do something physical like go for a hike or do a 5k with my hubby or a friend because I know I will be able do it and enjoy it. Being fit makes my life bigger, wider, deeper, richer and a whole lot more fun.
And the vanity related reasons of course still exist at any age;
7) Because I look better than I did when I was overweight
8) Shopping is easy -- at a size 6 it's a matter of "what color do I like best?" as opposed to at a size 14 it was "what can I get that will cover me up or make me look thinner?"
9) I feel good when I'm naked and look in the mirror. I see hard work and discipline looking back at me.
10) I feel more confident and comfortable in my body than I did when I was heavier and out of shape and that permeates every part of my life -- work, relationship, hobbies, vacations, everything.0 -
1. I want to be confident in my appearance
2. I can wear what I want and not look for flattering clothes
3. I want to avoid all preventable deseases
4. I want to have the energy to lead an active and fulfilling life
5. I want to feel lighter
6. Confidence again as that is a big issue for me (and weight loss will help with this)
7. I want to be able to run and have fun with my daughter
8. I want to look after myself inside and out
9. I don't want to feel uncomfortable around my super thin in-laws
10. Gain confidence, so that no one can put me down.0 -
1. To be able to buy different types of clothes, not just the kinds that flatter or slenderize the appearance of my body
2. To stop feeling so self-conscious of my stomach all the time
3. To sit on my b/f's lap or let him carry me without worrying that I feel heavy to him (even though he's strong and loves my body as-is!)
4. To prove to myself that I CAN do it and stop worrying that I've been self-sabotaging my weight loss efforts for years
5. To finally feel happy/content with myself
6. To learn that moderation is key; and that disordered eating is a thing of my past
7. To learn that time and patience are also key- slow and steady really does win the race!
8. To be stronger, more toned, and generally fit

1. Healthcare in the U.S. is very expensive and I can't afford to get diseases that I know I can prevent by being fit and healthy.

seems like your main motivation to lose weight is to look good, in my opinion superficial reasons to lose weight/be healthy are not ideal for a sustainable healthy lifestyle0

1. To be at a healthy weight to have kids. Being at the ideal weight for pregnancy, to be fit enough to deal with the psychical challenges of being a parent and to be a healthy role model.
2. To enjoy making babies! to feel sexy and enjoy being intimate, not to be always trying to control how my partner touches me because there's parts of my body I don't like.
3. To be able to move on with my life. Being self conscious about gaining weight is a drain on energy, I should have better things to think about, so rather than dwelling on it and feeling ashamed I want to fix it!
4. To feel in control of my body, I want to show my body respect by maintaining it well rather than trashing it with poor food/lifestyle choices.
5. To change how I handle my emotions and be strong enough to deal with the causes of my unhappiness rather than trying to get a quick fix with food.
6. For my size not to be the first thing people see when they meet me. If someone was giving a visual description I wouldn't want overweight/fat to be in the top 3 things they'd mention!
7. To be able to take my best friend up on the offer to go wedding dress shopping, and not to feel too embarrassed to try stuff on!
8. To change how I handle my emotions and be strong enough to deal with the causes of my unhappiness rather than trying to get a quick fix with food.
9. To enjoy food, to cook and eat together rather than getting takeaways
10. To help my partner stay healthy so we can both have longer and happier lives.0 -
1. Heart disease runs in my family and I don't want it.
2. Diabetes runs in my family, and I don't want that either.
3. I love running, and I can't do that very well if I'm overweight.
4. I want to be able to keep up with my kids.
5. I want to feel as comfortable OUT of my clothes as I am in them.
6. I want to live to see my grandchildren (hopefully at LEAST 10 years away)
7. I want to buy and wear the cute clothes.
8. Some day I want to wear a two piece again (need the pregnancy stretch marks to fade a little more).

1. I firstly want to be a healthier and more athletic person
2. To get my body baby ready since we are planning on having kids next year!

1. To remain healthy
2. To (hopefully) not have to take daily medications
3. Energy

5. To not have to rely on others to do thing for me or care for me.
