Not Feeling the Benefit of Food

I don't really know how to explain this, but I'll try.
I often feel very low energy and even if I eat a meal (and feel full) I don't get any perk from the food. Like I feel the food in my stomach (and I can't eat anymore), but I feel lightheaded as if I haven't eaten for a while, and I don't get any energy boost. I eat very cleanly and include lots of protein in my diet, but even when I feel physically full I feel as if I've been starving myself.

Can anyone explain this, or tell me how to fix it?

What are you eating? A hot pocket won't give you as much energy as a quiche.

I think you should take a trip to the doctor. I had a similar issue when I was younger and it turned out that I had iron anemia. It's also possible your body is not absorbing vitamins properly.

I second going to the doctor. If you're feeling lightheaded it could be a number of things. Anemia, blood sugar problems, idk. Better to be safe than sorry.
  • Same here, and I eat relatively well also. I'd definitely get checked for anemia.
