Feeling discouraged

Nowadays it seems some weeks I lose 2 and I get my hopes up that I will lose the same next week and it doesn't happen. It gets me really discouraged and makes me eat worse because I feel like I'm working for nothing.

I've been exercising at least half an hour each day for the past 19 days as part of the Beachbody 21 day fix. I love exercise but it doesn't seem to get me to my goals.

Just keep at it. You're doing so well, so far! You'll have weeks where you lose more, you'll have weeks where you lose less - that's just the way of things! Maybe changing up your food or exercise routine will shake things up a little bit. Change something if you aren't happy with it, and see what happens. You're gonna have bad days once in awhile, but in the long run, all those ups and downs add up to the progress you've seen so far. You can do it! :)

Weight loss isn't linear and it doesn't go down in a neat, perfect line. Some weeks you might see a loss, others you might not. Some of it is due to water, bloating, sodium, hormones, time of day, etc.

    Have a little patience.

Your food diary is open-but nothing is logged at all the past few days (I grew bored after searching the past week and didn't search any further)... How are you tracking what you eat? It is really difficult to say what the issue is if you are eating too much or too little when there is nothing there to see.

Keep going and don't give up, it takes time and patience.

Write a list of other things that have been positives over the past few weeks.

Have you had an increase in your strength and fitness?
    Do your clothes fit better?
Can you walk further or can you breathe better?
Are you making better food Choices?

Look at the overall picture not just the scales and I'm sure you are doing great.

Always be reminded your great intentions are there, don't give up, keep that big picture vision with you all day

Slowly and steady decrease 100calories-150 every 2 weeks and up the exercise or activity ever so slightly so you always give your metabolism all these opportunities to break plateaus!!

Remember end of the day its all math, calories in vs calories out!

Think Lifestyle, not diet, and eventually down the road when you've reached your goals, if your attitude is good, losing weight wont be a chore, it will be a way of life and a reward for you and your health and longevity ;)

    Cheers eh

I haven't logged in over a month. I am on day 20 of the Beachbody 21 day fix. I measure out my food according to their containers. I might go back to logging but I have found it stressful in the past.
I eat pretty healthy, with the exeption of the odd sweet here and there but... no fries, no pop, no deep friend foods

We're all on our own journey to health-so whatever works best for you. :flowerforyou:

However, if you are asking for advice on eating more/eating less (which is what your question seemed to ask)... MFPs' cannot guess your calorie intake (and what percentage of macros you are undereating or overeating)... I've convinced my kidlets that I can see and know everything, but I'm completing failing at guessing your calorie intake.

I meant switching up your diet a little bit. If you eat the same thing all the time, maybe changing what you eat - or if you eat pretty healthy, throw in some extra healthy fats like avocado and nuts. Maybe have a certain day where you eat a little more or a little less, just to break out of that cycle. Back when I lost about 15 pounds, the best thing that worked for me was eating the calories needed to lose a pound a week, but I threw in a day every week or two where I ate 500-1000 more calories. Just to switch it up. It worked at the time. XD

I really like what Miffylou said. Pounds on the scale don't tell the whole story. You may not have lost any pounds (or even gained some) since you started working out regularly. Remember, muscles weigh more than fat. If you are building muscle, you might not see a change in the numbers on the scale. Look at your muscle tone, or have some one else look at it and tell you what they see.

I did P90X by Beachbody and only lost 12 pounds over the course of the program. I was really discouraged. I worked out six days a week, followed the diet and felt like I worked so hard for so little. But, a friend told me that they could see that my back, my neck, my arms and legs looked different. They were more toned. Essentially, I was gaining a lot of muscle because I'd had NONE.

Keep it up and I bet you'll see the difference on the scale eventually. For now, the difference may be seen somewhere else.

    Don't give up! Good Luck!!!
