10 lbs in 5 weeks is 2 lbs/week, pretty aggressive. if youre really overweight you could probably manage it but based on your ticker youre not, id aim for 5 lbs (which still may be a little aggressive for 5 weeks at your weight), and continue onwards after the wedding0

Not what I wanted to hear......but I agree with what you are saying I will aim high but not let myself get defeated if I don't achieve it!0

patience and persistence are your 2 best friends. good luck on your wedding and shredding that fat!0 -
You're also assuming that a ballpark weight like 10lbs off the scale is going to make you look fitter. Exercise, including weights, will probably help to shape your body the way you want it even if you don't see a rapid drop on the scale. If you weren't already using weights at all, I bet the toning of your muscles under your fat (especially if you're just a little overweight) could produce visible results in 5 weeks - much better results than just trying to starve off 10 lbs..0

I agree that working out can do a lot. My gym has a bride boot camp right now and I am sure you could find one.0 -

^^ This.
My suggestion would be to start lifting weights for body comp and adding in cardio for extra fat loss.0 -
Weights it is! How often should I be doing weights? Every other day, couple times a week...0

you have less than 5 weeks really... when you have yor final dress fitting you should maintain that weight or your dress wont fit right.0

I also just started working out again. I'm doing an hour of cardio. So I know from that, I may not see the numbers on the scale drop due to building muscle....0

you dont build muscle doing cardio... any weight gain is water retention from stressing the muscles.0 -
Final fitting is tomorrow.....dress is corset style so it wont matter if I lose more...according to the seamstress. I would have to lose a drastic amount for it to need adjusting0

It might matter depending on your body type and where you lose weight. I've lost almost 30 lbs now, and the most noticeable loss has been in my breasts - I've lost a few cup sizes, and that definitely would have impacted the fit of my wedding dress. Honestly, if your final fitting is tomorrow, I would just focus on maintaining like Tavistock recommended.0 -
update please??? I just stumbled onto this and I'm wondering how it's going and if you're ready.0
