    U2 and the Talking Heads ruled the 80s for me. Their albums of that era (on into the 70s for the Heads) are some of the finest ever produced.

    Has anyone mentioned "My Sharona" from The Knack yet? No, it wasn't made in the 80s, but I consider it the first 80s song.

    Other favorites of mine (I'm off topic and discussing albums, not songs) include The Police and REM up to "'Fables of the Reconstruction". After that they became lame.

    The Smiths, The Cure, B52s are other favorites. Yes, I obviously went to college in the 80s as everything I've mentioned ranked big-time on college charts.
