To all my ladies that are a member of a gym that is equipped with a steam room. This is a great way to give yourself a facial. I go to the gym for at least 2 hours a day doing cardio and strength excersises. When I am done I sit in the steam room for at least 10 minutes with a cotton ball with an astringent on it and as the steam opens my pores I clean, clean, clean! It is the best!

yah, nothing better than sweating it out and a cool shower afterwards0

I heard you sweat off pounds in there. What gym do you go to and what is the monthly fee? I'm not to far from you (Miami Lakes) I would soo love to use a steam room!0

I heart the steam room too, unfortunately at the gym I go top, its in the mens room and we have the hot rock sauna. I'm getting used to it and am starting to enjoy it as much as a steam room.
Any place that is warm during winter is good in my book!0 -
Ohhh good to know....my gym has a sauna and I love it! It helps relax my muscles!0

I go to L.A. Fitness on Pines and University.0

I wish my gym had one, we do have a sauna and I spend quite some time in there after a good work out. You're right it really is a great benefit!0

To the young lady that wanted to know the cost, it's approx $29.99 plus tax per month. It is soooooo worth it!
We have a sauna too and honestly it is better because it forces your body to work harder by manufacturing the sweat instead of the steam instantly creating the effect in the steam room. But that means that you need to spend more time in there. The steam room is faster.0 -
WoW that is a good price! I think I'll go check it out...thanks =0)0

It's important to mention that the steam room is NOT a weight loss tool. The steam room has a lot of benefits for muscle recovery and overall health, but it does not aid in weight loss. While the steam room will burn off water, it's important to rehydrate yourself afterwards or risk dehydration.0 -
That is correct, it's not a weightloss tool. In fact you shoud definitely take water in there with you to stay hydrated. Water weight is what it is, WATER it will come back as soon as you drink more.0

Good, hopefully I will see you there!0 -
Oh that's what I miss most about having a gym membership--the sauna! I live too far from town now to drive it every day, but we bought some workout equipment. Sweating in your basement is just not the same though. ((Sigh))0
