Have made this several times and always a hit. The original recipe calls for basil, and did not put it in.. Just
my personal preference..

Sunday Slow Cooker: Honey Garlic Chicken
Servings: 8 servings
Serving Size: about 2/3 cup
Nutritional Info: 177 calories, 3g of fat, 16.6g of carbohydrates, .2g of fiber, 24.6g of protein
Weight Watchers® PointsPlus®: 5 *

Ingredients

2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into chunks
3 garlic cloves, minced
3/4 tsp. dried basil
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup ketchup
1/4 cup honey
Pinch red pepper flakes
Instructions

Whisk together the garlic, basil, soy sauce, ketchup, and honey.
Add the chicken to the crockpot.
Pour the sauce over and mix everything together.
Cook on low for 4 hours. If at any point the chicken seems to be drying out (some chicken contains more liquid than others), then add a but of chicken broth.
For crispy outside, spread onto a baking sheet and broil for 3-5 minutes.

Sounds delightful. A little light on garlic for me though. I would up it to a full head of garlic!

Could probably calculate myself... but this seems like it would be high in sugar and sodium. Perhaps just no salt added tomato sauce instead of ketchup and reduced sodium soy sauce (a smidge less of that) and add in some veg to bulk it up... celery, bell pepper, onion and zucchini. All of those take on other flavors really well. Plus it would up the fiber content.

    Just my two cents!!

Sounds good. I have a bunch of breast meat and a slow cooker. Now, if I could only get soy sauce.....(wrings hands maniacally)

Hmmm, sounds good! I'm not a fan of ketchup, wonder if just chopped tomatos or pasatta would work?

do you think you could sub agave for honey?

(not for any health reason, but because I have agave and am out of honey  )

Care to share that recipe? :)

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    ¼ cup low-sodium chicken broth
1½ teaspoons hot (Madras) curry powder
2 teaspoons honey (I actually used tablespoons because I misread the recipe and it came out fine, just a bit more calorific)
½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon pepper
    1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Cook chicken in hot oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat 6 minutes or until browned.
Transfer to a 4-quart slow cooker.
Whisk together broth, curry powder, honey, salt and pepper.
    Pour over chicken.
Cover and cook on Low 6 hours or until chicken is done.
    Sprinkle with parsley.
