Im so Lazy! Help!

Hi all!

New to the forum. Im having some motivation issues and thought sharing would help. So, my weight is 140 but I have skinny fat syndrome where I have a lot of unsightly back fat (rolls) and belly fat which make me look very unproportioned vs another person would at 140 (i envy pear and hourglass shapes). So, I need to get down to around 125 to feel and look better. I've been 140 before in college and managed to focus and get back down to around 125 with exercise and eating right.. however now that Im working full time I seem to have lose that motivation I had before -- and I did have a lot more free time in college but I sort of feel that Im using that as an excuse..

Has anyone been there before?? Any tips?? Or have any words of motivation or encouragement? I know I need to do something.. b/c I feel so unattractive and dont look good in my clothes but somehow Im so lazy I just want to eat what I want and sit on my butt during my free time :(

Ok I will lay it on the line...Sorry to sound sexist, perverted, or weird...When you look at yourself in the mirror in the buff, do you like what you see? Do you think a potential lover, significant other or who ever will think you look good? How is your health? Can it be better with some weight loss? You are 24 according to your profile. You have your whole life ahead of you and its time to take personal accountability! No one will do it for you but yourself. I promise you as a male of 53 years old..it is triple hard to drop the weight than it is as your age. You must eliminate the self pity attitude and develop the personal responsibility attitude! You will be surprised how 30 minutes of fast walking dailey will help drop weight along with some healthy eating!

Be brave enough to post a before and after pic! ( I admit IM not that brave) Look at the ones posted on this site! VERY INSPIRING!!! Sorry to talk hard but I have been there and done that! Feel free to friend me. You can keep me in check as well. Lord knows IM not perfect either and I could use a little accountability myself!

Good Luck..We are pulling for you!

Thanks!! I've really been trying to turn things around!!
  • OP, I've been there, and now for the last year I made a COMMITMENT to CONSISTENCY in healthy eating and physical activity, I've lost 88lbs. I was always chubby/fat/obese, my profile pic is me at seven years old...I was born lazy (and very, very hungry apparently, haha!) If I can make this decision, SO CAN YOU. Some things that have helped me out are making lists of my motivations (often), joining online communities of health-minded folks (giveit100, dietbet, mfp) and staying active in them, putting a treadmill where my dining room table once sat (I swear, it speaks to me, "You spent $800 on me, you better use me!" lol), and lastly I keep setting progressive fitness goals with the understanding that this process doesn't just end at some magic number, it's a commitment I'm making to have my healthy choices outnumber my unhealthy choices every single day. Believe in yourself, YOU GOT THIS IN YA!
