So far today I have drank TWO Shakeology shakers full of water and I am on to my third plus my shake, made with water. Considering it's not even noon yet, this seems like a lot of water but my pee is BRIGHT yellow. What the fudge?

How much water do you drink in a given amount of time?

Edit: Gross question, I know, I'm sorry!

It probably has to do with what's in the shakeology shakes. All drinks are water based, but if I drink nothing but gatorade, my pee is not going to be as clear as if I just drank water.

Ditto with the vitamin, frequently they'll do that - if you mean like a neon super yellow.

Also, it's possible you had a lot of stuff for your body to release and your urine will lighten up as your body has time to process the water.

if you have any vitamins or if the shake is loaded with vitamins they will turn you pee bright yellow. as long as it is clear you are doing ok and likely you'll see it become more pale as the day progresses

Could it be bright yellow from vitamins? I lug around a 32oz water bottle. At the gym I drink 1 per hour. then the rest of the day I sip on it. I don't drink much juice or milk. So between the water, fruits, veggies and soups that's where I get my hydration. Are you taking vitamins? If not are there vitamins in your shake?

If you are taking supplements/vitamins the excess vitamins that your body doesn't need will be excreted through your urine. Your body can only hold a certain amount water soluable vitamins and then it gets rid of the rest which is why we need to replenish them daily. More often than not it makes your pee neon yellow.
  • It's the water soluble vitamins that are in your shake.....if your body doesn't need a vitamin, it gets flushed out.

    No worries :)

I usually drink between 8-12 cups of water. 64-96 ounces and my pee is clear, but I'm not taking anything else. Pour measuring cups of water into your shaker cup to see how many cups/ounces you're drinking. I think it takes a bit to overdo it, but everyone is different and you don't want to do something unhealthy.

I have been forcing myself to drink 9 to 12 cups (72 to 96 fluid oz) of water during my wake period of 15 hours. I have been doing this for the last 4 weeks.

My urine is moderately yellow the first thing in the morning and apparently clear the rest of the day.

Have your observations always been the case or just recently?
