Yes, 1650 diets work!

I'm a 5'3.5" female. I started off at 170 lbs June 20th 2013 after my 6 week postpartum check up. I like turtles. Sometimes, I eat bacon for breakfast. You know, whatever gets me to my macro / micro targets. I ate 1650 net. So, exercise days I'd eat closer to 1900. Lost about 1 lb a week. Some might think that's not fast enough but hey, it's not a race. I didn't get here in a few months, so I knew I should give myself more than a few months to bounce back from it. I'm maintaining around 2300 calories.
I'd like to think strength training and eating a decent calorie amount for being a tiny female helped me to retain muscle mass and helped me look leaner than if I had starved myself on 1200 calories for 9 months instead. Eating more and losing less per week on average isn't about not having the willpower to starve myself to reach a scale weight goal. It was about learning to make sustainable habits for myself, get in better shape, and get healthy. Here's to you who are doing the slow and steady, winning the race game. Let the gifs begin!

I am always glad to see people monitor their numbers in a logical fashion.
As a short guy with not much to lose and an incredibly sedentary job (desk job all day, sometimes literally all day), my TDEE is quite low. So, when losing weight, my calories seem low. But, am sticking to it.
Ultimately, my goal is to get to a certain BF%, then switch to a surplus and increase my weight lifting. Then when at my high end BF%, switch back to a deficit, and keep going back and forth.0 -

I love this!!!! I have lost 16lbs since March 22nd and the last month its been very slowly and I have been doing 1200 cals. I started being very active, bike riding, walking at least an hour a day and Ive recently started running!!! I also started feeling tired, getting headaches and geting HANGRY!!! So I have changed my settings and I am now set at 1510 cals a day, and yesterday was my first day to eat that much and I felt great!! No headache and plenty of energy! Im 131 lbs now and Im aiming at 115....I'll get there sooner or later and I'd like to feel healthy in the meantime!0

I'm not comfortable with the level of reason in this thread. I need an extreme diet suggestion that I can follow like crazy for 3 weeks and then give up.0
