Anyone else hate their face shape?

Does anyone here feel like they have a fat face? I really don't like my face shape. It motivates me to lose weight! It's more important to me than my body haha. My family have quite oval faces and then I happened. I have a very broad jaw. They make jokes here and there and I really don't like my face shape. Anyone else feel like they have a "fat" face?
Here's some pics so you can see what I mean...

Honestly, I think if anything fat loss makes faces look worse.. Most of the time. Lines appear, and bones become more pronounced. It was one of the side effects of weight loss I wasn't expecting.. Just something to think about. Weight loss may make your jaw more pronounced, not less.

You're absolutely beautiful, and you don't have a fat face at all.

I don't know what you're talking about. Your face is beautiful.

Well, for what it's worth I don't think you have a fat face. You're beautiful. I think it's easy to be insecure about things when your family are joking about it. There's a joke in my family that I'm really short. I'm 5'6 (F) so I'm not particularly tall or short- it's just that my family are 6'2 at the shorter end. Try to not let it get to you (hard advice to follow, I know). You can't change your face shape but you can change your body for the better. That's much more important.

Wow, thanks! I think it's an insecurity because media acts like having a broad face is the worst thing for a woman. Plus family knows I don't like it and make jokes. I guess it's good for aging though.

Thank you! It's more the shape though. The width, haha.

You have quite a round/oval face, and I wouldn't say you had a large jaw at all. I have a large jaw, it's wider than my forehead. Your forehead is definitely wider.

In any case, any face shape can look beautiful... it's a matter of having the right hair style to bring out the best features in your face. Some face shapes can look good with a wider range of hair styles. For example, my face shape can never ever ever ever ever look good with a pixie cut. But there are plenty of hairstyle choices for every face shape. There are lots of websites that have information on how to choose the right style for your face shape.

I can't see the pictures because I'm on my tablet, but when I was at my highest weight I HAAATED my face so much more than my body. I have full cheeks/store a lot of extra chub in my face for some reason and at my HW I just felt like a hamster. Now I never feel like my face looks fat. So yeah, it can get better! :)

Thanks! I don't think my face is ugly I just don't like it's bulkiness. I guess it's easy to get insecure about things when people give you reason to! I'm only 5'2 and I'd love to be 5'6. Not short at all.

Yeah, I struggle to identify my face shape. All I know it that it is bulky. I get told round, square, oval and even heart. I might have a secondary face shape. It probably doesn't help that I am so pale either. Really emphasizes the width. I just keep my hair long because short hair wouldn't work for me either.

Haha, I have a block head and probably will even if I lose weight. Sadly. Maybe it will improve - fingers crossed.

Your face is a beautiful shape! You don't look broad jawed at all. I, on the other hand, hate my broad jaw.
  • Oh honey, you're gorgeous, never forget it!!!! The media is a bull**** facade, the grass on the other side of the fence is always fertilized with bull****. When I get to pity partying about my perceived inadequacies I remind myself how petty it is for me to fret over such trivial things when we have brave young men and women returning from overseas with burns and shrapnel wounds, children sitting in oncology wards with tumors on their face, the deformed...and you know I think THEY are damn beautiful too, this life is short, we all grown old, get saggy, and pass on. Some might view this as negativity, but to me is is a powerful positive reminder of one of the most important things to posses in this life...GRATITUDE.

I've always had a *relatively* thin face, compared to the rest of me. I'm good at doing camera angles. But yeah, there are things I HATE about my face shape. I don't think it's ever going to really change. Now that I'm at my lowest weight in a couple years, I'm discovering that I do kinda have cheekbones. But I hate my chin, I hate my cheeks, I hate my nose, just blah.

This was me ~294, my highest ever weight. You can see I had a rather round face. I don't remember it looking like this.

And here I was on my birthday last year. I hate this pic lol. I was probably ~265-270.

And here's one of my most recent pics. I was about 234 here.

You can tell I've lost some of the roundness in my face. But in the end I think my face looks like a potato. I'd kill to have a beautiful heart-shaped face.

Thank you. I know, it is stupid to get caught up on stupid things like this but sometimes its hard to ignore how you feel. While I like some of my features I am very critical of myself. It is stupid but I can't help it much.

Yeah, you are lucky. Your face shape has really improved :). My problem is, even as a skinny kid I still had a kind of fat face. So even if I lost weight the shape would remain. It really sucks how much people notice face shapes these days. When I'm in group photos everyone has small and dainty faces and heads and then there's me. Really sucks! Haha.

OP you are gorgeous! Seriously. Those cheekbones and eyes make me jel. (I'm totally not hitting on you. I like dudes.)

I do think your face looks better slimmer though. But also the face you're making in the heavier photo is kind of saying "I hate pictures". That does make a difference.

I also hate my fat face. I've never been thin, so I have no idea what mine will look like, but I hope it doesn't look worse because yes, unfortunately sometimes people lose weight and that happens. :(

It's a rather deceptive photo. I definitely have a superman jaw.

Thank you! Thankfully, my cheekbones are quite alright. I made up for it in the width. If I had no cheekbones my face would be a bubble. P.S - I don't think you have a fat face at all.

If so, embrace it. At least it's not wide everywhere like myself :P
  • We all do it to ourselves at times. :) I guess it's part of life, but I think you are absolutely beautiful! And your hair is amazing too! :D Good luck with your weight loss goals!

I completely understand my face is one of my tell tell signs that I'm gaining weight. I hate it right now but in another 15 or 20 lbs i will love it again. I wish I could see your pictures but I'm mobile right now.

Smiling wouldn't hurt, and shut it. You're attractive.

Other than my thighs/hips, the roundness of my face is actually my least favorite feature and the thing I'm hoping to change the most. I hate it so much that I hadn't put my hair up in public for a good 4 years (though yesterday I finally worked up the courage to wear it up at the gym).

OP - you're gorgeous, though! I wish my cheekbones shined through like yours.
