Trying Again!

Hi, I have been a member of My Fitness Pal for about two years or so. However, I always start but I never follow through:( I hate tracking and I know that it's important for weight loss. About seven years ago, I lost 45 lbs. by going to Weight Watchers. Since then I have gained twenty pounds back. I hate it. I promised myself I wouldn't gain the weight back but here I am. I've never posted on the message boards, but I'm hoping that it will help with my motivation. I'm 51 years old and it seems harder than ever to lose the weight. I have struggled with my weight all of my life. I exercise regularly (about 5 times a week - usually 50 minutes of walking) so that's not my problem. Snacking is my problem. I welcome any encouragement - especially from the over 50s!

I'm trying to be more diligent with my tracking too. I do best when I keep track of what I eat. I took some time off and promptly gained back about 15 pounds. Time to lose it again.

I am not an over 50, but I wish you the very best luck. I love snacking, and I have found that prepacking my snacks in the morning and keeping them with me during the day helps me keep track of what I can do. Good for you with that walking! Good luck!

You are not alone. I am a tracker and for me is the way to be held accountable. Good luck!

Hi! I'm 51 too. And you're right, it does seem harder to lose weight. Keep going anyway.

On the weight gain, it creeps up slowly, stealth mode like! That's how it gets us!

Good news about your past... you've proved you can take the weight off regardless of its stealth mode! So you're going to do it again. <3

Be gentle with yourself. You *are* older now... and yes, wiser. So you will keep track of your food with the help of MFP - because they make it easy to do that. You can load the APP on your desktop/laptop, cell phone, tablet... whatever electronics you have. If you're near internet access via home, a library, a hot spot or on your cell network, you can log in and track what you're doing.

You can do this. You've done it before. You will do it again.

You go at it Sweetie! <3
